Homegirl! With my daddy!

Catherine Zeta Jones

“I wanted to show you where I started to play golf,” she shared, turning the camera to reveal sweeping panoramas of the sea and countryside around her.

The 52-year-old beauty was enjoying an afternoon of brilliant sunshine at Langland Bay Golf Club in Newton, close to the city of Swansea, where she had grown up.

In spite of its proximity to an urban area, the rural scene looked blissfully peaceful and Catherine was beaming with joy.

“On the golf course, just like back in the day,” she captioned her post.

“One difference, my dad can’t track my ball for s**t but I still love him.”

Her father maintained a stoic silence while she jokingly criticised his sporting technique, but he likely interpreted it as playful teasing.

“Welcome home Catherine – family time is so precious,” fellow Welsh Instagrammer kimbowjones responded.

Meanwhile, jemimapudds teased: “When you’re back in Wales your accent becomes more Welsh… especially when you say Daddy. Lovely to hear!”

Then joninmelb encouraged her candour, revealing: “Thank you for being a real person, a lovely real person of course!”

Earlier this week, it was reported that Catherine is considering purchasing a £9.75 million luxury home near Harrods.

However, despite her wealth and fame, the post seemed to suggest that the singer was equally content in enjoying life’s simple pleasures with family in the great outdoors.

Catherine, who sported a black jumper and chic monogrammed scarf, complete with a white hat, has been enjoying some down time, using it for personal growth.

Another recent Instagram post on that theme, which she labelled as “Monday motivation”, urged fans to “be the energy you want to attract”.

Despite previously suffering depression and bipolar II disorder, the actress seemed happy and stable in her latest communication.

Since the pandemic, Catherine, who is married to American actor and producer Michael Douglas, has spent less time in the public eye, making the update all the more appreciated by fans.

Her last major project was the TV film Cocaine Godmother, in which she starred as the sinister drug lord Griselda Blanco.

Catherine, who has nearly four million followers on her Instagram account, also recently shared a stunning throwback photo of herself and her parents in celebration of their 55th wedding anniversary.

The Catholic couple are still going strong after more than half a century of marriage and Catherine paid a tender tribute to their love, captioning the image: “I love you with all my heart.

“You are the wind beneath my wings.”

Doubtless there will be more family moments on the star’s timeline in the months to come.
