Dan Walker, 45, has once again bid farewell to his Strictly co-star as Judi Love, was the latest contestant to leave the BBC show along with her partner Graziano Di Prima. In a sweet video, the BBC Breakfast host revealed how he and the Loose Women panelist had grown close throughout their time on the show, while admitting he is “permanently surprised” that he and his own partner Nadiya Bychkova, have made it through to week seven.

I think I looked a bit shocked at the end

In a video posted to Twitter, Dan and Nadiya appeared in front of the camera dressed in bright red lobster outfits, following their performance to B52’s classic 70s song Rock Lobster, to which they danced the jive.

The pair couldn’t contain their excitement to be through to the next week of the competition before sending Judi some love and well wishes now she has departed the show.

He captioned the video: “Week 7 here we come!!! I’ve gone from thinking ‘I’m glad that’s over’ to ‘I can’t wait for the next one’ in a few weeks and it’s all down to @NadiyaBychkova.

Dan quickly followed it up with a spoiler warning, adding: “You’re all lovely. PLEASE don’t watch this if you don’t want to know who went out. See you on the TV in the morning.”

“I’m so happy!” Nadiya shrieked, “Thank you so much for all your support and love, I’m just so happy that we’re through!”

Dan beamed: “I think I looked a bit shocked at the end. Permanently surprised!”

He added: “I know I say this every week, but it was really sad to see Judi and Graziano go, because she was part of ‘Hotel Club’.”

Dan went on to reveal he, Judi and a few other contestants join forces every Friday night to catch-up over dinner.

“There’s a few of us that meet together on a Friday and have a socially-distanced meal,” he explained.

“And she’s been a real star.”

Nadiya blew a kiss to the camera as she said: “Love you Judi!”

Moving on, Dan still couldn’t quite believe that he’d made it through another week.

“Wowza, week seven…” he trailed off as he gazed at his excited partner.

“And, my first ever couple’s choice!” she exclaimed.

Dan chucked: “You’re well excited for this, arn’t you!”

“Yes,” she replied, “It’s going to be fun! It’s going to be amazing!”

However, while Nadiya was gushing over their next routine, the BBC presenter revealed he is yet to find out what it is.

“I find out tomorrow…” he began before stopping, peering at himself in the camera lens.

“I might keep this hair for BBC Breakfast, what you think?”

Nadiya nodded sincerely as she encouraged him to do so before they both signed off, thanking fans once again for their loyal support and well wishes.

Strictly continued Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
