Former The Only Way Is Essex star Danielle Armstrong has revealed she rushed her daughter Orla to A&E after the tot hit her head at home.

Danielle, 32, who is mum to the five-month-old with fiancé Tom Edney, has told how she was left panicked on Monday night after hearing “a thump and scream”.

Taking to Instagram Stories, she told her 1.3 million followers: “On Monday night, basically we had a bit of a dramatic night, didn’t we? I don’t know if I was being over the top but I’m sure new mums can relate to this.

“I was holding Orla and you know on your breakfast bar area thing? And obviously the top of your worktop is hard – we’ve got marble on the top. And basically she sort of, like, leant forward and within a split second she had basically hit her head.”

She continued: “For me, all I heard was a thump and the scream after. I was just like, ‘Oh my God!’ So I panicked and rushed her to A&E.

“Me and Tom were literally down there within ten minutes because I just thought, ‘It’s a head injury.’ Even though I didn’t see a lump or anything like that, she was just crying and then she went to sleep.

“You think of all these things in your head. So I just needed her to be looked over by a doctor.”

Danielle reassured her fans that Orla was given the all clear, before going on to tell a shocking story about a teenage girl she had met while waiting in the hospital.

“Thankfully, by the way, Orla was absolutely fine. She got checked and literally it wasn’t even her head, she’d whacked a little bit of the side. Which I’m actually surprised, she’s not even come up in any marks,” she said.

“While I was waiting in A&E, there was a young girl sitting there and we sort of got talking.

“I can’t get my head around it, this girl was 14 and her mum, who by the way was such a lovely lady, explained to me that they were down there because her daughter had basically tried to take her own life that day because of bullying and social media.”

She continued: “My heart actually broke for her and I tried not to cry because I didn’t want to upset her. But I think it just really hit home to what world we’re living in today.

“I just didn’t realise the seriousness of it until that night. And it just got me thinking. I can’t even imagine what I would do if Orla was 14 and was going through the stuff that this girl and her mum were telling me.”

She added: “We have to speak about it. It’s challenging times as it is, so let’s just be kind and love. OK, we’re not going to get on with everyone and it’s good to have opinions of course, but just be careful how you say things and how we treat others because there’s enough rubbish going on in this world we don’t need that added upset.”
