Kerry Katona witnessed first-hand the blossoming romance between Katie Price and Peter Andre in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle back in 2004.

But in her latest column for new magazine, the mum-of-five says she found their love story “cringey” to watch.

“It was fun watching Katie Price chatting on I’m A Celebrity… A Jungle Story about falling in love with Peter Andre,” says Kerry.

“I don’t think there’ll ever be a reality romance like it again. It was so genuine and I got to watch it first-hand – I even got them to have their first kiss.”

She continues: “But it was also cringey! There are so many shots of me rolling my eyes at Pete, thinking, ‘What is he doing?! Let the ground swallow me up, I can’t watch this any more!’

“I adore them both and they got two amazing kids out of it, so it’s lovely.”

After leaving the show Katie and Peter wasted no time in settling down together.

The following year they welcomed their first child, son Junior who is now 15, before tying the knot three months later in a ceremony that was exclusively covered by OK!.

They then welcomed daughter Princess, who is now 13, two years later. Katie was also already mum to her son Harvey, now 18, whose father is ex footballer Dwight Yorke.

The former glamour model also shares Jett, seven, and Bunny, six, with her third husband Kieran Hayler.

Kerry also opened up about her thoughts on this year’s series and revealed who she has her eye on to be crowned King or Queen of the castle.

The 40 year old, who won the third series of the ITV show back in 2004, says she is backing Vernon Kay or Shane Richie to take the title.

“I’m A Celeb is back and I’m so excited! It’s just what we need as a nation right now. Every year, I get a little bit jealous and think, 'I want to do it all over again!' But I can’t think of anything worse than being in freezing cold Wales instead of sunny Australia!” says Kerry.

She continues: “As a viewer, I can’t wait to get to know Mo Farah, but my bet is on Vernon Kay or Shane Richie being crowned King Of The Castle.

"I’ve met Vernon and he’s a great guy, and I know Shane as our kids went to the same school.”
