No rumors starting here: Lindsay Lohan is back in the recording studio.
On Monday, a rep for the “Mean Girls” star confirmed to Page Six that Lohan will be “dropping new music within months.”
Lohan posted a photo of herself on Friday wearing headphones as she stood by a mic. She later replied to a report from The Blast that highlighted the image in question, tweeting, “Hard at work.”
Over the weekend, the actress shared a blurrier shot from what appeared to be a recording session, captioning the image with emojis of a microphone and music notes, along with the hashtag “#ME.”
Lohan dropped her debut album, “Speak,” back in 2004, which featured the singles “Rumors” and “Over.” The record peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and became certified platinum.
The actress released her second album, “A Little More Personal (Raw),” the following year, which hit No. 20 on the Billboard chart. Lohan’s sophomore record included the song “Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father),” which provided an emotional look at the former child star’s tumultuous home life growing up.
“People have such a different perception of the way I live my life and what’s gone on in my life,” Lohan said of the music video for “Confessions,” which she also directed in 2005. “I can use my music video to show people what really has gone on, as kind of offensive and vulgar as it may be.”
