Love Island beauty Priya Gopaldas received wide praise after donating her £750 pay cheque from the show to an NHS charity.

The 23 year old shared her decision to donate the funds to NHS Charities Together on her Instagram story last week.

She told her followers the money was "put to good use" as she shared a screenshot on her payment from ITV and the donation.

Now, in an exclusive chat with OK! Priya revealed she didn't realise she was going to get paid for going on the show and opened up on her dreams of becoming a doctor someday.

When asked why she decided to make the donation Priya, who recently had a brilliant response to a body-shaming troll, told OK!: "I just thought, with the year we've had, the NHS has given me so much, given everyone so much.

"So as a little gesture of my appreciation for the NHS and the people that work tirelessly for our health I thought I's just give them that because Love Island was such a positive experience for me."

Priya then revealed: "I didn't even realise I was getting a pay cheque from ITV. So because it was such a positive experience I thought just as a little token of my appreciation I'd give it as a donation."

Before heading into the Love Island villa last month, Priya had been studying for her medical degree.

And, despite her new found fame, Priya still wants to fulfill her dream of being a doctor, perhaps following in the footsteps of Love Island veteran Dr Alex George, who returned to his job working in A&E after taking part in the show in the fourth series of the show in 2018.

When asked if she plans to continue her training to become a doctor, Priya revealed: "Absolutely, I mean I've done 5 years of med school and I've only got a little bit left.

"And my dream is to be a doctor, above everything else.

"That's always been my dream for a long time now and so I'm starting back at med school next week, which I'm really excited about and so, yeah, that's the goal. Finish my medical degree and be a doctor."

Priya has a year and a half left until she completes her degree, so her dream is ever closer.

In the meantime, fans of the stunning reality star can see her once again on the Love Island reunion live special which airs on Sunday 5 September at 9pm on ITV2.

Speaking about being reunited with some of the Islanders and meeting the ones who were not in the villa at the same time as her, Priya said: "It will be lovely to see everyone because I've only seen Brett since coming out of the villa but I haven't seen any of the girls or any of the boys so it will be good to see them."
