Prince William and Prince Harry will meet face to face ahead of their late mother Princess Diana's statue unveiling, royal expert Duncan Larcombe tells OK!

The brothers have been locked in a bitter feud in recent months but Duncan believes they will have a secret meeting before the world's eyes are on them this Thursday.

"It's highly likely that William and Harry will meet in private before the statue unveiling," he says. "Royal never attend an official engagement by turning up out of the blue and Harry and William will both know that all eyes will be on them.

"They will want to try to put on a united front. They will have plenty of time on the morning of Thursday so I think it's likely they'll have breakfast and try and smooth things over. At least get to a point where they can stand to be together."

Prince Harry and Prince William's relationship has been tense since early 2020 when Harry announced he was stepping down as a senior royal with wife Meghan Markle.

Things then took a dramatic turn when Harry and Meghan sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a shocking tell-all interview.

Harry landed in the UK in last week to isolate ahead of the statue unveiling for his late mother Princess Diana – on what would have been her 60th birthday.

It is believed that the Duke of Sussex is carrying out his quarantine at Frogmore Cottage.

The 36 year old will have to isolate for five days until he can do a 'test to release', which will allow him to leave self-isolation if he gets a negative result.

Harry recently admitted that London was a trigger for his mental health, saying: "For most of my life I've always felt worried, concerned, a little bit tense and uptight whenever I fly back into the UK, whenever I fly back into London."

And royal expert Duncan believes he will be feeling increasingly nervous ahead of this Thursday's event.

"Prince Harry has already described London as an emotional trigger for him so understandable that he'd been spending his time in isolation feeling isolated and anxious about Thursday. He'll be feeling apprehensive about it all."

Details about the statue unveiling have been announced by Kensington Palace, who said it will be a “small event.”

A statement shared on Twitter by royal author Omid Scobie read: “Prince William and Prince Harry will attend a small event to mark the unveiling of a statue they commissioned of their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace on Thursday 1st July.

"In addition to close family of Diana, Princess of Wales, members of the statue committee, the sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, and garden designer, Pip Morrison, will also be present."
