MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry did a poignant post on Instagram about helping the needy at Christmas – and could it be proof the duchess writes her own captions?
The sweet message uses Americanism “holidays” to refer to festive period, which hints that Meghan, 38, could be the anonymous author behind the message.
Before she joined the royal family, former actress Meghan was a prolific Instagrammer and blogger on her now-defunct The Tig.
The December 1 post is the latest in a string of clues that Meghan has a firm hand over the Sussex Royal account.
The full message said: “With the festive holiday season upon us, it’s also a reminder to reflect on those in need – those who may feel lonely, hungry, homeless, or may be experiencing the holidays for the first time without loved ones.
“It’s an important time of year to help those around you who may be less fortunate, or who would appreciate even the smallest act of kindness.”
And it's not the first time fans have been suspicious.
Highlighting how one of their chosen charities Baby2Baby had benefited from the donations, a caption in April read: "Baby2Baby have received over 5,000 products to disperse to children in need, including cribs, books, backpacks, diapers and have received monetary donations from around the globe."
Highlighting how nappies have been referred to as "diapers" and cots as "cribs", one fan speculated that "Meghan is writing the captions".
As well as this, fans also believe that the spelling of the words "organisation" and "re-energise" with a "z" suggest that Meghan is actually the one running the page.
Meghan and Harry are currently in the middle of taking a six-week break from royal duties and are thought to be skipping Christmas at Sandringham.
In August, the royal couple snapped up a new £30,000 a year digital communications expert to boost their social media presence.
Keen hockey player David Watkins, then 26, was hired from posh fashion label Burberry for the job which was advertised on the royal website earlier this year.
Millennial David, born in Ireland, describes himself as: “I am a marketing, sporting and travel fanatic with both experiences on and off these fields, an International hockey player, Ironman and four-time marathon finisher with passion and knowledge of these sectors.”
But with Americanisms creeping into their captions, could Meghan be taking the lead on the couple’s social media page?
Last week, Prince Harry and Meghan took to Instagram to wish fans a happy Thanksgiving as they celebrated the US holiday during a break from royal duties.
