Tenniscore has become one of the hottest trends this summer. An offshoot of classic preppy style with a suffix that takes after the familiar “normcore” and “cottagecore” aesthetics, the look takes tennis gear and turns it into a fashion statement. Exhibit A is the pleated miniskirt: functional for free and fast movement on the courts, but just as adorable in other settings.
Now, streetwear brand Kith and century-old tennis giant Wilson have joined forces for a tennis line that elevates the look. The collection officially drops today, timed to this year’s U.S. Open. Made of up of 160 pieces, it includes both equipment and apparel, melding Kith’s fashion sense with Wilson’s sporty functionality.
Both brands were interested in reimagining what tennis can look like while honoring its history. Kith founder Ronnie Fieg has strong personal ties to tennis, while Wilson has a long legacy of making equipment for the sport. So the capsule felt only natural—and with tenniscore on the rise, it’s especially opportune. “With the introduction of Wilson Sportswear this year, we have been striving to live at the intersection of sport, fashion and culture. There is no better partner than Kith for such an endeavor,” says Wilson marketing manager Joey Nowak.
The apparel brings a fresh streetwear perspective to Wilson’s old-school designs, modernizing the brand’s knits and suede-and-wool varsity jackets. All the while, it honors Wilson’s traditional khaki, green, and navy colors, while incorporating expert engineering to ensure that the clothing is as functional as it is chic.
The collection includes a 77-piece men’s collection, 27-piece women’s collection, and 19-piece kid’s collection, all of which follow the same color palette of optic white and dusty earth tones reminiscent of clay and hard courts. Also on offer: sports equipment including headwear accessories, a leather racquet bag, and Wilson’s legendary Pro Staff 97 racquet. In addition, the designers have paired up with drinkware company Corkicle to offer lifestyle items such as towels, keychains, socks, and a canteen.
The products are available now exclusively at Kith’s US flagship stores as well as on the brand’s site. Scroll on to see more below.
