Amazon confirm June date for annual Prime Day sale event

The hottest summer sale of the year is almost upon us.

Not quite Christmas or Black Friday, but just as exciting – Amazon has just announced the official date for its epic annual Prime Day sale.

The Amazon Prime Day event will be held on June 21 and will end at 23.59pm on June 22, kicking off summer with two days of price cuts and the best savings Prime has to offer.

Savvy shoppers will have the chance to bag themselves over two million deals worldwide across every category including: fashion, home, beauty and more, along with the best in entertainment benefits and never-before-seen exclusives across Prime Video, Amazon Music and Prime Gaming.

But the good news doesn't stop there, Amazon will also be releasing some of the bargains early, including up to 50% off popular Amazon devices like the Echo, Fire TV and home security options from Ring, from 7th June to 22nd June.

The offers are exclusive to Prime members only, meaning you'll have to sign up for a Prime membership to take advantage of these deals in the flash sale – you'll also have access to features like Amazon Video and Music within your membership.

If you aren't yet a member, you can take advantage of a 30 day free trial, it's £7.99 per month after your trial, but you can cancel at any time before your 30 days are up to avoid incurring any charges.

For Prime members activating for the first time, from today until June 22, Amazon is donating 5% of their first qualifying Prime Day purchase to their chosen charity – that's 10 times the regular donation rate. The initiative is part of AmazonSmile, the retailer's charity venture that helps customers donate to their favourite causes at no extra cost.

What other Prime Day deals will there be on offer?

Prime Day 2021 will feature unmissable deals from top brands including LEGO, Bosch, Fitbit and Philips.

Prime customers will have access to daily Lightning Deals, which will update regularly while stocks last. There will also be more than a million deals globally from small and medium-sized businesses selling on Amazon, including sellers from Amazon Handmade.

As part of Amazon’s investment of more than $100 million worldwide to help small businesses, Prime members can get a £10 credit to spend on Prime Day if they make a purchase of £10 or more from eligible small businesses from 7 to 22 June.
