Bridgerton’s Simone Ashley gets an edgy ‘square fringe’ and blunt bob haircut

Dear reader, if you binge-watched the second season in barely more than a sitting and there’s been a Bridgerton-shaped hole in your life ever since, you’ll be pleased to know that your Shondaland hair and beauty withdrawal symptoms might be eased a little thanks to Simone Ashley’s latest transformation.

The 27 year old actress, who plays the elder of the two Sharma sisters Kate in the hit Netflix show, has just given her hair a very non-Regency era makeover with the addition of a feathered full fringe, while her lengthy hair, which used to fall way past her shoulders, also appears to have been given a fresh chop. Her new hairdo is also styled poker straight, really showing off the slightly feathered ends of the style.

Simone shared a snap with her 3.3 million Instagram followers although didn’t refer to her hair makeover, simply captioning the post: "See ya Seattle" alongside a waving hand emoji.

The star’s new look of course didn’t go unnoticed by the rest of us and has gone down a treat with her followers, who took to the comments section of her grid post to tell her as much.

"Bangs are banging, girl!!" her Bridgerton co-star and on-screen stepmother Shelley Conn writes, as a second fan agrees, "Love your new hairstyle."

Meanwhile a third chimed in with, “Omg! You're so beyond stunning! Loving the bangs,” as a fourth enthusiastically declared, “THE HAIR LOOKS AMAZING.”

This hair makeover comes just a couple of weeks after the star appeared to get the trending “octopus haircut”, a shaggy style that has dominated social media for the first half of 2022.

Sharing a new snap to her Instagram Stories back in May, Simone showed off freshly cut, wet-look tresses. Though her hair looks like it was yet to be blow-dried, we could easily see she’d had new face-framing, choppy layers put in, as well as losing several inches of her lengthy hair.

We definitely get octopus cut vibes – a modern take on the mullet whereby more length is added to the bottom of the style while the hair on the top maintains weight. The look was really made popular last year thanks to the likes of singer Billie Eilish and Squid Games star HoYeon Jung.

Clearly there isn’t a hairstyle that Simone Ashley can’t pull off.
