Eva Longoria talks about £9.99 beauty products making her skin look ageless at 47

Eva Longoria looks better than ever at 47: fact. We know this because we’ve just been up close and personal to her backstage at Paris Fashion Week, where she was part of the “Walk Your Worth” empowerment catwalk for L’Oréal Paris. Naturally, we took the opportunity to get the lowdown on her skin secrets – including her favourite instant fixes which just happen to cost less than a tenner.

The gorgeous actress was prepped for the runway using L’Oréal’s True Match Foundation, a bargain £9.99 here. A definite base with benefits, it comes with plumping hyaluronic acid and SPF built in, plus a new “ready for your close up” formula that now mixes six pigments instead of four.

“I want multifunctional technology, I want sunblock in my makeup, I want hydration in my base,” Eva told us, in an exclusive behind the scenes chat. “I’m like, ‘Foundation – do something more than just sit on my face!’ People keep telling me my skin looks amazing, and I’m like – ‘It’s this!’”

For a final touch of perfection, Eva swears by another L’Oréal staple, Infallible More Than Concealer, which is also a purse-friendly £9.99 here. “I am a die-hard fan of this,” she enthused. “It dries matte so you don't need to powder it. For women over 40 that's a dream because when you start powdering, it's like ‘hello wrinkles!’ I put it on spots and under-eye discolouration, people always compliment me when I wear it.”

Obviously even the best make-up needs a great canvas to apply it over, and Eva tells us she’s been doing all her pre-show prep in her bathroom rather than a spa. “There are so many great facialists here in Paris and everybody was like, ‘Do you want a facial?’ And I was like ‘Yeah, I really, really do. But I don’t have time’,” she laments.

Luxuriating in the spa has fallen off the priority list now that Eva’s a devoted mum to six year old Santiago. “I'm shooting a TV show for Apple in Barcelona right now, so I’m popping over to do this show and I’ve got to get back because my son's waiting for me,” she says. “So I was studying my lines for my show, not getting a facial done.”

While swotting up on her script, she tells us she’s been smothering my skin in L’Oréal’s Revalift range. “I asked a L’Oréal dermatologist what the best thing was for plumping and she said 'Hyaluronic acid! And Revalift is dermatologist level.' I use the whole range. The eye serum (£24.99 here) has been life-saving for brightening when I have to go to a shoot.”

Revitalift’s new super-serum – Clinical 12% Pure Vitamin C + E + Salicylic £29.99 here – also ticks the multi-functional box for Eva. “When I heard about this three in one, I was like: YES! I don’t want to be putting on one thing for this, one thing for that. So of course I’ve been using this.”

And even though she’s an A-lister, she swears she likes to keep an eye on her beauty budget. “Revitalift’s so great because I love a routine, an everyday routine and sometimes products can cost an astronomical price from your dermatologist, and you can't keep it up. You're like ‘I have to use this HOW many times a day?!’ and then it runs out and you're like ‘WHAT??’ So this is what I've been using. I love that it’s so accessible.”

And we all love a high street regime that makes you look a million dollars!
