Parents love milk bottle hack making it easier for kids to pour without spills

Milk bottles can be quite big and heavy for little hands – often meaning as much liquid can end up on the kitchen floor as it does in a cereal bowl.

That problem may be a thing of the past after one mum shared a handy hack to make pouring milk a lot easier for your children – and other parents are loving it.

Kate Anderson discovered the trick by chance, when she was washing up old bottles ready for recycling.

Distracted, she accidentally screwed the lid of a ketchup bottle on to a carton of milk and the eureka moment made her realise she might be able to save a lot of money and time spent crying over spilt milk.

She transferred the lid to a new bottle of milk in her fridge and found it was far easier to pour and 'so controlled'.

Bringing in her seven-year-old to try it out, she found it worked perfectly and says it's put an end to rushing around to clean up milk before school, as reported by Kidspot.

“I really thought I was the only one who didn’t know this, but posted it just in case others didn't know," Kate said.

"I wasn’t expecting anything from it. My kids love it they think they are so grown up."

Her tip was shared by Happy Mum Happy Child, with the post: "Fun fact: your tomato sauce lid will fit on the milk bottle. Perfect for kids who want to do it themselves but often spill it."

Other mums and dads loved the idea, with one writing: "That's such a great tip! For me as much as the independent toddler!"

A second commented: "This is genius!"

Another said: "This is awesome! Thanks for sharing."
