I’m A Celebrity may have been a little different this year, swapping the warmer climes of Australia for a cold Welsh castle, but viewers have still been engrossed as the stars battle it out to be crowned king or queen.

And we’re down to the last four celebrities as the hit ITV show prepares for the finale on Friday 4 December.

As hosts Ant and Dec presented the show on Tuesday 1 December, viewers were quick to notice that the popular presenters were wearing matching red ribbons and wondered why.

Dressing in warm attire to brace the cold, Ant and Dec looked as they always do but their outfits featured the extra addition of the ribbon.

And the ribbon is worn to raise awareness and support people living with HIV and the presenters wore them on 1 December because it was World AIDS Day 2020.

The day encourages and supports a greater understanding of the virus, which Ant and Dec sought to do by wearing the ribbon.

The ribbon has been around for quite some time, with celebrities often spotted wearing them on screen.

The day was founded in 1988 and it became the first ever global health day as a result.

I’m A Celebrity will finish up earlier than usual this year to the dismay of viewers.

Taking to Twitter to question why the series was finishing up early, one fan wrote: “I'm pretty sure the celebrity's luxury items are usually later on in the series, not this early on! They've just arrived, sort of! #imacelebrity.”

Another added: “No way #imacelebrity finishing next Friday, we need it for longer.”

While a third asked: “Why is #imacelebrity finishing a week earlier than planned?”

The hit ITV show typically lasts three weeks but it appears this year will be different, and ITV hasn’t yet confirmed why this is but it appears it could be to do with the colder weather in Wales.

Another theory is that it allows the crew time to isolate before heading home to spend Christmas with their families.
