Mums rave about Primark’s £1 coconut shampoo and conditioner – saying it’s the ‘best product they’ve ever used’ – The Sun

WOMEN are raving about Primark’s coconut shampoo and conditioner which they say has transformed their greasy hair.

Facebook is awash with comments from people praising the hair care range, with some people saying they’re never going back to using regular shampoo.

The high street store is selling coconut and cactus flower hair care as part of their super blends range, with this formula designed to strengthen your barnet.

But women have found it’s an amazing cure for greasy, lank locks – and they cost just £1 each.

Posting an image of the range on Facebook's Extreme Couponing and Bargains Group, set up by thrifty mum Holly Smith, one woman wrote: “Anyone that suffers with greasy hair after a day try this.

"Absolutely amazing from Primark.

“I've tried everything with shampoos and even masks and still the same.

“But this has been the best so far. Without a doubt.”

Her post has since gone viral, racking up more than 1,200 likes as others agreed – while some vowed they're going to try it.

One of the hundreds of comments said: “I love mine, best products I’ve ever used on my hair wouldn’t try anything else.”

This mum said: “This is a godsend I’m pregnant and my hair is getting greasy a lot at the moment and it helps so much.”

A third commented: “It works I’ve been using it for ages hard to find it, so every time I see them I pick up as many as I can.”

While this person added: “This stuff is amazing!”

And this mum wrote: "My daughter uses this and I agree helped her with her greasy hair."

But as Primark doesn't sell online, you better get down to your local branch if you want to get your hands on them.

Meanwhile women are  raving about Amazon’s frizz-fighting hairspray – a must for summer.

In more hair news women are championing this vegan range as the answer to bouncing curls.

And these woman claim this £23 hair growth shampoo and conditioner reverses thinning hair.

Lee Rigby killers ‘battered behind bars by Brummie drug lord’

Mobster John Anslow – whose daring jail escape made headlines across the county – was sentenced for more than two decades for orchestrating a huge drugs operation.

Anslow’s dad, John Snr, has now made the sensational claim his criminal son has had a prison scrap with Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale.

Anslow, whose cell in high-security Belmarsh neighboured the terrorists’, became annoyed with the pair’s late night antics.

According to BirminghamLive, the mobster was irritated with the extremists loud late night conversation.

John Snr claimed: “All night and all day they were shouting. One each side of him.

“John got him on the floor and was throwing punches before the screws pulled him off. ”

John Anslow Snr

“One tried to put it on him and came off worst. John got him on the floor and was throwing punches before the screws pulled him off. He gave it to him. He stood his ground and had a go back.”

He added: “They (Adebolajo and Adebowale) are the worst of the worst. I’d like to do to them what they did to Lee Rigby.”

The underworld kingpin from Tipton, Birmingham, spent 439 days on the run before being caught in Northern Cyprus.

According to BirminghamLive, Ministry of Justice officials questioned the claims – saying that without a date for the scrap, an investigation into the allegation was impossible.

There are strict conditions in place to prevent the terrorists from mingling with other Belmarsh inmates, a spokesman said.

Their savage crime in May 2013 plunged the nation into mourning. The pair mowed down 25-year-old Lee outside his Woolwich Barracks before brutally attacking him with knives and a cleaver.

Disturbing footage circulated showing the pair with blood-covered hands yelling at terrified passers-by that the murder was in retaliation of Muslims being killed by British soldiers.

Both men were sentenced to life in February 2014, with Adebolajo, 28, destined to die in jail.

Rigby’s mum Lyn has recently pledged to set up a new retreat for grieving military families as the country mourns the sixth anniversary of the shocking terror attack. Lee left behind wife Rebecca and a young son, Jack.

Following the Belmarsh incident, which occurred a couple of years ago, Anslow was transferred to Frankland Prison, County Durham, and is currently incarcerated at HM Prison, Wakefield, the largest high security prison in Britain.

He gained a global reputation as a gangster after being sprung from a prison van taking him to crown court.

The hardman was seized by criminal pals armed with sledgehammers from outside Redditch’s Hewell Prison in January, 2012.

2019 French Open: Roger Federer Reaches the Quarterfinals

PARIS — Roger Federer has not dropped a set at the French Open and eased into the quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 win against the unseeded Argentine Leonardo Mayer on Sunday.

With temperatures reaching 88 Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) on a sun-soaked center court, the third-seeded Federer was rarely troubled in beating Mayer for the fourth time in four meetings.

Federer has not played at Roland Garros since 2015, deciding to skip the clay season for health reasons until returning to the surface this year.

In his last French Open, four years ago, Federer lost in the quarterfinals to his Swiss countryman Stan Wawrinka in straight sets.

He could get a chance to make amends. Federer next faces either Wawrinka or the rising star Stefanos Tsitsipas, who beat Federer in the fourth round at this year’s Australian Open.

Federer is chasing a record-extending 21st Grand Slam title. He won his only French Open in 2009.

The women’s quarterfinals got some fresh faces Sunday.

Petra Martic has followed up her win over second-seeded Karolina Pliskova by rallying past Kaia Kanepi, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4, to reach her first Grand Slam quarterfinal.

The 31st-seeded Martic had entered with an 0-4 record in the fourth round at majors — first reaching the last 16 at Roland Garros seven years ago.

With both players trading moon balls late in the tense third set, Martic ran down a drop shot and responded with a forehand winner up the line to break for a 5-4 lead, then converted her first match point in the next game.

Martic next plays 19-year-old Marketa Vondrousova, who has reached her first Grand Slam quarterfinal without dropping a set.

She beat 12th-seeded Anastasija Sevastova, 6-2, 6-0, in only 59 minutes.

The only two games that Vondrousova lost came immediately after she took a medical timeout to receive treatment for an apparent cut on a finger of her left hand — her playing hand — while leading by 3-0 in the first. She appeared to pick up the cut when she slipped and fell to the clay in the previous game.

Vondrousova improved to 25-5 since exiting the Australian Open in the second round — a stretch that includes finals in Budapest and Istanbul.

Also advancing to the quarterfinals was 26th-seeded Johanna Konta, who beat 23rd-seeded Donna Vekic, 6-2, 6-4.

Although Konta had reached two Grand Slam semifinals, at the Australian Open in 2016 and at Wimbledon in 2017, she had never been past the first round at Roland Garros in four previous appearances.

Konta’s quarterfinal opponent will be either the 2016 champion, Garbiñe Muguruza, or the 2017 United States Open champion, Sloane Stephens.

Robot art unveiled in world first by lifelike AI who can draw with own hands

“We are looking forward to the conversation Ai-Da sparks”

Lucy Seal

Ai-Da’s solo exhibition, Unsecured Futures, opens at Oxford University from June 12.

The artwork will include drawing, painting, and even sculpture.

Aidan Meller, Ai-Da’s brainchild and gallery owner, said: “Pioneering a new AI art movement, we are excited to present Ai-Da, the first professional humanoid artist, who creates her own art, as well as being a performance artist.

“As an AI robot, her artwork uses AI processes and algorithms.

“The work engages us to think about AI and technological uses and abuses in the world today.”

Engineers in Leeds developed the robotic hand, which calculates a virtual path based on what it “sees” in front of it and then interpreting co-ordinates to create the piece of art.

“We are looking forward to the conversation Ai-Da sparks in audiences,” said Lucy Seal, researcher and curator for the project.

“A measure of her artistic potential and success will be the discussion she inspires.

“Engaging people so we feel empowered to re-imagine our attitudes to organic life and our futures is a major aim of the project.”

UK weather: Britain basks in sun on HOTTEST DAY OF YEAR as temperatures sizzle to 27.6C

The Met Office said the temperature soared to 27.6C at 2.27pm at Heathrow in west London on Saturday. That beat 2019’s previous warmest temperature of 25.8C, which was set last month. June 1 is treated by weather experts as the meteorological first day of the UK summer.

Areas in the south east of England have enjoyed the best of the weekend weather so far, with Teddington in south-west London and Wisley in Surrey seeing the mercury rise to 26.4C.

The temperature also reached 26C in High Beach, Essex, and 25.9C at the Iver water works in Buckinghamshire.

Conditions could get even hotter in East Anglia on Sunday, with temperatures of 28C or 29C expected, but that could also bring a risk of thunder.

Met Office meteorologist Emma Smith said the hot weather is the result of the jet stream moving north and high pressure and heat coming from the continent in the south.

It’s hot for the time of year

Met Office meteorologist Emma Smith

She said on Saturday: “For this time of the year it should be 19 or 20C in London and in East Anglia it should be 18 or 19C, where we could see the hottest temperatures tomorrow.

“The last time we had 28C was August last year. It’s hot for the time of year.”

According to the Met Office, Saturday evening will remain dry in central and south-eastern areas.

Elsewhere conditions will turn cloudier and breezier, with outbreaks of rain across Northern Ireland, spreading to Scotland, north-west England and west Wales by the morning.

On Sunday, rain showers are expected to spread eastwards with a risk of isolated thundery showers in the east and south east, accompanying the hot weather.

Monday is forecast to be windy with showers in the west and north-west, while dryer and brighter elsewhere.

Germany's Social Democrats seek new leader, question coalition

BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany’s Social Democrats on Monday discussed appointing three caretaker leaders after Andrea Nahles resigned and SPD members, appalled by the party’s plunging popularity, called for ditching their scrappy coalition with Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Nahles, the most vocal proponent of the SPD’s reluctant decision to form a third so-called “grand coalition” with Merkel’s conservatives, quit on Monday after a disastrous showing at last weekend’s European Parliament elections.

Voters have punished the SPD for its decision to step in as a governing coalition partner of last resort with ever more disastrous poll showings, culminating last weekend in the party being toppled in its stronghold city of Bremen after 70 years.

To allow time to settle on a new permanent leader, SPD sources said the party executive had proposed naming three joint caretakers – Manuela Schwesig and Malu Dreyer, the premiers of the states of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Rhineland-Palatinate respectively, and Thorsten Schaefer-Guembel, who heads the SPD in Hesse state.

Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, leader of Merkel’s conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU), appealed to the SPD to remain in their governing alliance, in which the Social Democrats are the junior partner.

“Germany must be able to act and be fit for the future, and we very much hope that the Social Democrats will make their decision so that this will continue to be possible,” Kramp-Karrenbauer told reporters.

The ruling coalition is due to run until 2021 but a midterm review in the autumn could be an opportunity for the SPD to pull out of the alliance – a scenario that has growing appeal to party members fed up with sharing power with the conservatives.

“I believe a coalition walkout has to come,” said Simone Lange, SPD mayor of the northern city of Flensburg, who challenged Nahles for the party helm last year. “The question is when is the right time to do it.”

The options facing the SPD are unappealing.

Early elections would probably decimate a party now running third in the polls behind the surging Greens. But the SPD is struggling to appeal to its traditional working-class base while its leaders share power with Merkel.

“The party is rudderless and deeply wounded,” said Josef Joffe, publisher-editor of the weekly Die Zeit. “In these straits, wild dreams have wings, and so the clamor for rebirth in opposition may end its unhappy marriage with Merkel.”

GREENS RAISE STAKES

Finance Minister Olaf Scholz, the SPD’s most popular politician, said he have no time to combine that job with leading the party.

If the SPD decides to pull out of the ruling alliance, options include new elections, an even more unwieldy coalition of three party groups, or a minority conservative government propped up on an ad hoc basis.

The price of any of these options would likely be an end to Merkel’s almost 14-year-old tenure as chancellor.

The ecologist Greens would play a pivotal role in the arithmetic of a new coalition after they soared past the SPD in the European elections, then came first, ahead of the conservatives, in an opinion poll released on Saturday.

Annalena Baerbock, the Greens’ co-leader, told broadcaster ZDF that if the grand coalition faltered, the German people must decide on the way forward. “That means, then, there needs to be new elections,” she said.

The CDU is in no rush for elections as Kramp-Karrenbauer, Merkel’s heir apparent, has made a poor fist of steering the party since taking its helm in December. Her weakness could tempt a new SPD leader to quit the coalition later this year.

“If the CDU then continues to give the impression that it might not be all that well-prepared for the post-Merkel era either, the SPD might feel just about emboldened enough to pull the plug,” said Carsten Nickel at consultancy Teneo.

A man who murdered his secret lover before hiding her body in the boot of his car for three days has been jailed for life.

Jamie Lee Warn will serve a minimum term of 19 years after he was convicted of killing Zsuzsanna Besenyei, 37, in May last year.

The court heard he hid her corpse in the boot of her car before disposing of her remains on a beach in Jersey three days later.

He then left her car on the sands at St Aubin to make it appear as though she had taken her own life.

Warn, 55, denied murder and perverting the course of justice but was convicted by a majority verdict by a jury after almost seven hours of deliberation.

Sentencing him at Jersey Royal Court today Deputy Bailiff Tim Le Cocq said: ‘There are some things that may never be known about the murder of Zsuzsanna Besenyei – precisely how you killed her or why.

‘The way you tried to cover up the crime and the way you researched how to get rid of the body were aggravating factors.’

He today received a mandatory life sentence and was told he will have to serve a minimum of 19 years before he can apply for parole.

During the hearing, Crown Advocate Simon Thomas, prosecuting, said: ‘The concealment of the body is a serious aggravating factor.

‘Had the defendant’s plan gone as planned Miss Besenyei’s body would have never been discovered and this would have caused immeasurable pain to the family.’

During the trial, the court heard how Warn engaged in an ‘elaborate’ cover-up in the hope of ‘literally, getting away with murder’.

Miss Besenyei’s lifeless body was found washed up at La Pulec bay in St Ouen in Jersey on May 16 last year, six days after she had gone missing.

Mr Thomas told the court Miss Besenyei went to Warn’s flat on May 10 as she was trying to collect money from him.

While the defendant had a girlfriend, the two were secretly involved, frequently exchanges texts.

Miss Besenyei sent the accused a message from her phone at 7.30pm as she arrived and the prosecution believe she was killed sometime between then and 8.20pm.

The court heard that Warn hid her corpse in the boot of her car (pictured)  before disposing of her remains on a beach in Jersey three days later. He then left her car on the sands at St Aubin to make it appear as though she had taken her own life

Miss Besenyei’s body was discovered at La Pulec bay, two days after her car had been found at La Haule slip, in St Brelade.

Mr Thomas told the court the defendant had disposed of her body ‘in the dead of the night’ on a ‘remote beach’.

After an eight-day trial, the jury of six women and six men convicted Warn of murder and two counts of perverting the course of justice by lying to the police.

They reached unanimous verdicts on perverting the course of justice, and a majority verdict on the murder charge.

Andy Cohen Celebrated His Birthday With His Favorite Gift Of All — His Son

What a difference a year makes. Andy Cohen’s 51st birthday was his best one yet. This year, Cohen celebrated with "the best birthday present of all" — his son Benjamin. As fans likely know, the Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen host welcomed his first child Benjamin Allen Cohen on Feb. 4 via surrogate. And his life has completely changed ever since.

While Cohen got plenty of gifts and shoutouts on social media from celebrities and Bravolebrities, nothing can stack up to quality time with his son. On Sunday, June 2, Cohen shared a photo with Benjamin on Instagram and wrote, "I got the best birthday present of all…"

Of course, Cohen’s birthday post received a lot of response from Real Housewives, celebrities, and fans. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG Kyle Richards commented, "Oh, yes you did. Cannot get over him. You two are twins." New York Housewife Dorinda Medley shared a similar sentiment: "Yes you do! The sweetest picture ever! Happy Birthday." Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania commented, "It doesn’t get any better than that!"

Meanwhile, Marc Consuelos said, "You got that right. Happy bday Andy!!" Fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg wrote, "You guys deserve each other. God bless you."

Clearly, everyone agrees that Benjamin really is the best birthday gift that the proud dad could ever have. Not only that, but Cohen’s parenthood journey has been a gift to the Bravo fanatics as well.

Cohen publicly revealed that he was expecting his first child during a December 2018 episode of WWHL. He was surrounded by OG Housewives Vicki Gunvalson, Ramona Singer, NeNe Leakes, Teresa Giudice, and Kyle Richards. It didn’t seem like it could get any better than that, but it did.

In January, that same group of OGs threw the most epic baby shower in Los Angeles. Cohen and Real Housewives stars from every city danced on tables during what had to be the most fun baby shower of all time.

There was even another baby shower thrown by his famous friends Anderson Cooper, Kelly Ripa, and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Aside from changing Cohen’s life, little Benjamin has brought joy to many others. He can even refer to Anderson Cooper as his uncle.

Out of the Real Housewives stars, Kyle was the first one to meet Benjamin. In a February interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, she shared, "I’m so in love with him I can’t even take it." She even remarked, "It’s literally like holding Andy without the suit on, like a little Andy." Aww!

And it gets even cuter. On April 8, Cohen proudly shared a photo of Benjamin following in his footsteps by shooting some side-eye. Like father, like son.

Even though Cohen’s world is full of so many fabulous people, no one compares to the true star of his life. There was no better way for him to celebrate his birthday than to spend time with his son Benjamin. There’s no doubt that this past year has been Cohen’s best one yet. Now we just have to wait around and see how they celebrate Benjamin’s first birthday.
