73, Milner has just brought down Bernardo, and somehow avoided a second yellow card.

Pep Guardiola is furious. That was a blatant booking.

Not even a VAR check. Milner stays on the pitch somehow.

71, What a final 20 minutes we have in store.

My money is on a winner at either end, I don't think this ends a draw.

70, What a finish from Foden, from the tightest of angles he has picked out the bottom corner with a rasping shot.

Man City are level, they have responded.

Jesus made the run in from the right and slid it in to Foden down the left, and the local lad fired Pep's men level.

    GOALLLLLLLLL!!!!!!

    Phil Foden!! Man City level!

68, Liverpool respond with Firmino coming on for Jota. So the familiar front three of Mane-Salah-Firmino are reunited.

Jesus has switched to the left flak for City, and he had a real chance just then to run at Milner and get his shot on goal, but he wasted it.

65, 25 minutes to go and how will City respond?

Looks like we're about to see Sterling come off the bench. Indeed he does come on to replace Grealish.

Jota, meanwhile, is booked for a foul on De Bruyne.

61, Man City won't believe they're behind in this, but they didn't take their chance in the first-half when they had Liverpool on the ropes.

They've started this second half like a team that are just soaking up pressure again.

Excellent from Klopp and Liverpool to reverse the momentum.

59, Liverpool click into gear, and in the blink of an eye they take the lead.

Salah just got away from Cancelo down the right, and his strike partner Mane made a brilliant diagonal run across him and in behind Dias.

Salah found him with a perfect slide through ball, and Mane lifted it past Ederson.

Anfield erupts… what a turnaround from Liverpool since half-time.

56, City just beginning to re-establish a foothold in this game and get their passing back.

They seemed content to let Liverpool come at them for 10 minutes.

City are sitting deep and looking like they know a storm is brewing. Have they missed their best chance?

50, Matip finds Jota with a ball into feet and the strike turns brilliantly before firing in a shot.

Ederson got down to make a save and a much-needed one too.

    Funny how half-time can change a game…

    LIVERPOOL 0-0 CITY

    47, Much better from Liverpool.

They work an opening for Milner to fire in a cross, but it's straight at Ederson.

    Encouraging, though.

46, And we're underway in the second half.

    NO CHANGES

Teams back on their way out of the tunnel and surprised to see no changes for Liverpool.

How will they deal with Foden down the left in the second half?

  • supal

    ONE WAY TRAFFIC

Man City have been the driving force in that first half.

One shot compared to Man City's seven. 55 per cent possession for the away side too.

They have been first to the pump, but will they run out of fuel?

That's enough topical puns for one post.

    HT: LIVERPOOL 0-0 CITY

Half-time at Anfield and somehow Man City aren't ahead. It's been completely one-way traffic and Liverpool haven't got doing at all.

Klopp sprints down the tunnel. He's going to need to make some big changes.

    LIVERPOOL 0-0 CITY

45, What a quite unbelievable pass from Ederson for Foden in behind Milner again.

Alisson was off his line to make a tackle as Foden tried to skip round him.

Milner could be done at HT at this rate. Klopp needs to make changes down that flank.

    1 minute added time.

42, Milner is having all kinds of problems.

He was just left for dead by Foden and picks up a yellow card for hauling him down.

40, As expected City are getting a lot of joy down their left. Milner needs some more help and Henderson is trying to provide it.

Anfield is not just anxious, it's agitated and restless.

  • supal

    LIVERPOOL 0-0 CITY

37, Liverpool have looked out of ideas going forward and have almost been picked off on a number of occasions at the back.

Klopp will be happy to get in level at this rate. City just as impressive as they were last week at Stamford Bridge.

34, De Bruyne again… and he blazes over.

A brilliant cross to the far post from Foden finds him in all kinds of space.

De Bruyne was closing in behind Robertson completely unmarked to surely head City in the lead, but it balloons off his head and into the stands.

    City should be ahead.

    LIVERPOOL 0-0 CITY

32, Foden goes down, and can't believe he hasn't got a penalty there.

He was brought down by Milner right on the edge of the area but no foul given.

Looks to me like Liverpool got away with one there.

At very least it was a free-kick on the edge of the box.

  • supal

    LIVERPOOL 0-0 CITY

31, Oh wow. Dias absolutely fired in a backpass to Ederson and the man City goalkeeper did very well to stop it from going in.

    Nervy stuff.
