Real Madrid next manager odds: Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti and Antonio Conte favourites to replace Zinedine Zidane

REAL MADRID are continuing their search for a new managerial appointment after the departure of Zinedine Zidane.

And there are TWO clear frontrunners for the position in Antonio Conte and Everton's Carlo Ancelotti, according to bookmakers Betfair.

Zidane left the La Liga club for a second time in his coaching career on 27 May.

The 48-year-old won three consecutive Champions League titles and a La Liga title in his first spell at the Bernabeu.

However, he finished the 2020-21 campaign without any silverware and conceded the title to neighbours Atletico.

Zidane was contracted until June 2022 but he decided to cut ties because he felt the club "no longer had faith" in him.

In an open letter to fans, he wrote: "I'm leaving because I feel the club no longer has the faith in me I need, nor the support to build something in the medium or long term.

"I understand football and I know the demands of a club like Real Madrid. I know when you don't win, you have to leave.

"I'm a natural-born winner and I was here to win trophies, but even more important than this are the people, their feelings, life itself and I have the sensation these things have not been taken into account.

"There has been a failure to understand that these things also keep the dynamics of a great club going. To some extent I have even been rebuked for it."

With Zidane out of the picture, attentions have turned to his successor with Conte the odds-on favourite at 8/11.

The Italian left Inter Milan just three weeks after guiding the club to their first Serie A title in 11 years.

The two parties were unable to agree on a clear project with Conte demanding investment and Inter desperate to generate over £70m in player sales.

He's joined at the top of the betting market by compatriot Ancelotti, who's available at 6/4.

The 61-year-old spent two seasons in charge at Real – winning Champions League, Copa del Rey and Club World Cup before being axed.

However, Ancelotti is contracted at Goodison Park until June 2024 AND recently discussed his desire to see the club into their brand new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Club legend Raul is offered at 3/1 with Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino a fraction behind at 4s.

Departing Germany boss Joachim Low and Guti are next at 14/1 and 16/1 respectively with Lille's Ligue 1-winning boss Christophe Galtier the outsider at 20/1.
