UFC champ Israel Adesanya admits he prefers fighting behind-closed-doors so 'drunk' fans cannot yell 'twist his d***'

ISRAEL ADESANYA says he prefers fighting behind-closed-doors due to a lack of drunken fans.

The UFC middleweight champion produced a masterclass to beat Brazilian Paulo Costa with ease on Fight Island last night.

The challenger fell victim to a superb kicking display by the Nigerian-born New Zealand star as he picked apart his rival before a stunning second round KO.

And he mocked Costa by appearing to hump him only moments after brutally knocking him out at UFC 253.

As referee Jason Herzog separated the fighters with Costa, 29, sprawled on the ground, Adesanya appeared to thrust his hips in a humping motion towards his stricken foe.

During the post-fight press conference he was asked about a lack of a crowd, and he said even though he loves MMA fans, he preferred the less distractions that came with them not being there.

The 31-year-old said: “I love it, honestly … it's much better.

“You don't have these drunk guys who have been drinking since six hours ago, yelling: 'Knock him out,' 'Stand him up, ref,' [and] 'Twist his d***.'”

Adesanya added: “I love fans, do not get me wrong, and this event would have been beautiful with fans, but at the same breath some of them, in droves, are stupid — dumb as f***.

“I have beautiful interactions [with fans] most times, but the mob mentality [makes them] dumb as pig s***.”

Adesanya, whose record stands at 20-0, called out Jared Cannonier as he already eyes his next fight.
