UFC star Jon Jones shows off insane body transformation after revealing date for heavyweight debut against Miocic

JON JONES has showcased his new lean and mean physique as he gears up for his long-awaited heavyweight debut.

The former pound-for-pound king has used his lengthy hiatus from the octagon to pump iron and pack on the beef ahead of his move up in weight.

At one point, Jones beefed up to a whopping 255lbs – nearly TWO STONE heavier than his walkaround weight when he was competing at light-heavyweight.

But in a recent and rare training video, the UFC Hall of Famer looks to be considerably trimmer.

Jones, 33, shared a clip of himself going through a gruelling strength and condition workout on his Instagram page.

And MMA fans were quick to comment on his bigger physique, with one tweeting: "He looks great tbh."

Jones hasn't set foot inside the cage in nearly two-and-half years, with his last outing being a decision victory over Dominick Reyes.

An interim heavyweight title fight with former champ Stipe Miocic was on the cards, although Bones has since revealed their clash will likely take place in September.

He tweeted: "Stipe is saying that he will be at his absolute peak in September.

"I’m disappointed but patient, I want the heavyweight GOAT at his absolute best. I’ll wait until September. No excuses"

Jones' hiatus from the cage was in part down to a contract dispute with the UFC brass, although his advisor Richard Schaefer insists he's ready to return to action.

The former Golden Boy Promotions chief told SunSport: "He's been training, he's been extremely smart about how to bulk up and have the right weight and do it in an intelligent way.

"Not just eating a lot but actually gaining muscle mass.

"He has been really amazing about it; I've never seen anything like it.
