Riverdale season 4 cast: Who plays Mr Sowerberry? Who is Lane Edwards?

Riverdale’s Mob boss and Veronica (Camila Mendes)’s dad Hiram Lodge (played by Mark Consuelos) is always up to no good. Whether he’s getting a prison to produce his drugs for the town’s teens or chasing down his daughter’s beloved sweetheart Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), when there’s something dodgy going on in Riverdale, most people would bet money on him being involved. So to keep his empire growing and to ensure he stays out of prison, Hiram needs a good attorney – who comes in the shape of Mr Sowerberry.

Who is Mr Sowerberry in Riverdale?

Paul Sowerberry is played by Lane Edwards in Riverdale season 4.

Lane has previously appeared in Smallville, Falling Skies, Supernatural, Heartbeat, The Good Doctor and Redemption.

Mr Sowerberry is the attorney of Hiram Lodge, who ironically ended up incarcerated in his own prison in season 3.

Veronica, with the help of boyfriend Archie, came up with a plan to take down her dad and managed to get him arrested by Sheriff FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich).

Despite being thrown in the Lodge Detention Centre for his misdeeds, Hiram was already scheming and planning his revenge against his enemies.

Hiram is going to be taking aim at his family including his now estranged wife Hermione Lodge (Marisol Nichols) after she went against his plans to privatise Riverdale and essentially run the town himself.

Season three was definitely a turning point in the marriage between Hiram and Hermione, with the latter only sticking with the mafia kingpin out of fear.

Both of them were also having affairs – Hermoine was seeing Minetta while Hiram was keeping his mistress Ms Mulwray (Kelly Ripa) at the Five Seasons.

Consuelos and Ripa are actually married in real life, helping to make their on-screen romance even more realistic.

At the end of season three, Hiram was told by one of the guards of Hermoine’s arrest after evidence had been planted to take her down.

He also hinted he would be seeking revenge on his daughter since she helped to put him in prison.

Even though Hiram is imprisoned, he can pull strings from behind the scenes so could he have something to do with the mystery surrounding Jughead following the season four trailer?

Hiram is expected to cause trouble throughout series from behind bars so his trusted attorney is bound to be at hand to help him out.

Riverdale season 4 continues on Netflix UK every Thursday.

Strictly Come Dancing 2019: ‘She didn’t go wrong’ Neil hits back at Craig’s criticism

Pro dancer Neil Jones appeared on Strictly Come Dancing’s sister show It Takes Two with his dance partner Alex Scott yesterday as he spoke about their performance last week. Alex’s Tango left judge Craig Revel Horwood less than impressed however, Neil recently hit back at Craig’s criticism saying “she didn’t go wrong”.

Alex and Neil danced to Go Your Own Way and scored 23 which was the same result as their performance for the previous week.

The pair sat with veteran host Zoe Ball to talk about being on the bottom of the leaderboard and responded to Craig’s criticism.

Zoe reminded the former Arsenal footballer and Neil about Craig’s praises and criticism

The presenter reminded Neil of the difficulty of the choreography, to which the professional explained: “I actually watched back on the video over and over again… You didn’t go wrong.”

Following their performance, Craig said: “I thought the whole work was a little bit all over the shop and I felt like your being thrown about a little bit and not dancing with yourself. Arms need shaping especially out of hold if your going to do so much work out of hold.”

Responding to the harsh criticism, Neil thought that Craig misjudged Alex’s moves.

He told Zoe: “Even Artem said it the other day, you didn’t go wrong.”

Taken aback my the judges’ responses, Alex told Zoe and Neil: ”I was surprised when they said that because that was my best one yet and I loved the training, the Tango.”

“And when he said ‘I went wrong’, I was like, ‘Did I?'” she added while talking about her reaction to last Saturday.

Neil explained how he was equally as confused and wondered if she did make a mistake.

Alex broke into laughter along with presenter Zoe as she reiterated Neil’s point that “she didn’t go wrong”.

“No Neil I don’t think she watched it back and she didn’t go wrong,” she reassured and applauded the couple.

Craig wasn’t the only judge who was being critical as head judge Shirley Ballas said: “[It was] consistent from last week to this week. Not a major improvement but a little bit of an improvement.”

Bruno Tonioli opined: “It’s good. try to explore the different side of your personalities,” but he pointed out that “something went wrong” about her steps but gives “credit for trying”.

On the other hand, Craig did give some positive comments on the couple as he said: “I loved the sharp staccato stuff with your head and I thought that was brilliant and your acting has definitely come up more than a notch darling so well done.”

And Motsi Mabuse said that Alex is improving and want her to do “her thing”.

  • Coronation Street spoilers: Weatherfield rocked by huge explosion?

This weekend the pair are expected to perform the Charleston and hope to impress the judges to stay safe in the competition.

After last week’s shock elimination of BBC radio DJ Dev Griffin and his dance partner Diane Buswell, it was clear from Alex reaction that she doesn’t want to be in that position again.

It seems this performance could go better for Alex as her rehearsal training clip shows her performing very happily, something even Zoe noticed.

Will the Charleston be enough to impress the judges this week?

Strictly Come Dancing returns tomorrow at 6.40pm on BBC One and It Takes Two airs weekday at 6pm on BBC Two.

Carol Vorderman: Countdown’s Susie Dent on former co-star ‘She doesn’t come back’

Carol Vorderman presented the numbers and letters round on Countdown from 1982 until 2008.

Since leaving the show, her former co-star, Susie Dent, who has been in the Dictionary Corner since 1992, revealed Carol hasn’t been back in the studio.

Susie added she hasn’t seen the Welsh beauty in “ages” as she’s busy with “new adventures”.

“No she doesn’t come back and I haven’t seen her for ages,” she told Express.co.uk.

She doesn’t come back

Susie Dent

“Sometimes we’re in touch by sort of text but she’s off doing her flying now, she got her big new adventures. So, no I don’t.”

There is one of her former co-star’s who is still close to her heart, the late Richard Whitely, who died aged 61 in 2005.

Susie admitted she pays tribute to Richard on the show when certain words come up.

“Obviously I miss Richard as well,” she fondly said.

“Whenever certain words come up, I always pay a silent tribute to Richard.

“He loved the word leotard, so when his favourite words come up, I always pay a silent homage to Richard.”

Rachel Riley took over from Carol and earlier this year in January, the star celebrated 10 years on the show.

The Channel 4 favourite is now just weeks away from giving birth to her first child with husband Pasha Kovlev.

Susie admitted she will miss her friend and colleague, but added she is so “excited” to meet the little one.

“I’m very excited,” she divulged. “We’re all very excited about the new addition to the Countdown family.”

Susie revealed the name of the baby is being kept a “big secret”, but she is desperate to know what they have in mind.

Unable to contain her excitement, she said: “I just can’t wait to find out the name! The name is a big, big secret, she’s not telling anyone!”

Countdown’s Dictionary Corner star features in a new campaign video for Guide Dogs, which looks at how invaluable words and description are to those living with sight loss or who are visually impaired.

The charity are urging people to volunteer to be a My Guide, to help those in need, and Susie said she’s hoping to train to be one herself as she acknowledged it’s such a “great idea”.

She revealed: “I’m going to have training to see if I can be a My Guide to somebody near me and, essentially, what it entails is three hours a week or less to share an experience with those with sight loss or who are visually impaired.

“The guides will help with practical stuff, transport, navigating around obstacles and description comes into it.”

She added: “I didn’t realise just how much the power of language mattered to them.”

Guide Dogs new Powers of Description campaign is supported by Susie Dent. Use your powers of description and volunteer to become a My Guide, a sighted guide to someone with sight loss, today at guidedogs.org.uk.

Friends reunion film: Odds SLASHED as Jennifer Aniston posts new picture

They were supposed to be there for us long after the rain started to pour. The show may have wrapped up in 2004 but continues to be syndicated and broadcast across the globe today. No wonder fans are still desperately hoping for one last coffee at Central Perk. The cast have repeatedly played down any hopes of a reunion, but a new post from Aniston just reignited speculation.

Aniston announced her arrival on Instagram by posting a picture of all six stars of the show reunited. Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry joined her grinning for the camera.

It took place during a dinner at Cox’s house and Aniston tagged the image: “And now we’re Instagram friends too.”

Talking about the evening, Aniston admitted they all “missed (Friends) every day.”

Bookies immediately slashed odds on a reunion one-off TV special or movie from 10/1 to 5/1.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Fans are expecting a Friends special of some sort and we wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest to see exactly that in a day, a week, a month, or even a year from now.”

Aniston herself previously revealed that it is the show’s producers who are the biggest block to any new material.

She told Variety: “Our producers wouldn’t want it, wouldn’t let us. Look, it’s not been without our desire to, because our fans have wanted it so much.

“It depends. I mean, we haven’t all sat in a room, but would we have loved to have done something together? Yeah. It would have been fun. We could have redesigned it for a couple episodes. But whatever. Maybe it’s better this way, but we’ll never know.”

So, has anything changed?

The bad news is probably not.

Chatting to radio host Howard Stern last week, Aniston said: “I honestly think, [though] we would love it, there is an idea if there is a reboot of the show, it won’t be even close to as good as what it was.

“It would ruin it.”

And nobody wants that.

Coronation Street spoilers: Michelle Connor flees Weatherfield in wedding revenge twist?

Michelle (played by Kym Marsh) is currently unaware Coronation Street love rat Robert (Tristan Gemmill) is also preparing to tie the knot with the mother of his born child, Vicky Jefferies (Kerri Quinn). With the two stories set to merge in the coming weeks ahead of 43-year-old actress Kym’s exit from the ITV soap, the fallout could have potential devastating consequences.

Although Robert has done hisses to keep his two lovers apart, his plans will crumble in upcoming scenes as Michelle starts to close on to his myserteous behaviour.

For weeks, the Bistro chef has been sneaking off to live his double life, fooling the former Rovers Return barmaid by telling her he has been helping reformed youth convicts.

On-location filming pictures emerging earlier this month revealed the curious bride-to-be will seemingly begin to question her fiancé’s whereabouts and spot him talking to a heavily pregnant Vicky.

Could uncovering the truth lead her to plot a brutal revenge plan for the couple’s wedding day as yet more spoiler images have surfaced? Will this lead to her dramatic exit from the cobbles?

  • Coronation Street spoilers: Yasmeen Nazir’s abuse uncovered by Alya?

Despite Michelle and her confidant Carla Connor (Alison King) witnessing the altercation between the pair, it seems the upcoming nuptials will still go ahead.

It’s not been confirmed if the bride-to-be will confront her other half about paying a visit to her love rival, but if she dos decide to keep the information to herself, this could lead her to take action.

In the new on-location filming pictures, the beloved character dazzles in a ivory white wedding dress with a plunging veil to complete the look.

The floor length gown is accessorised with a diamante waist band as actress Kym also dons a pair of glistening silver heels.

Other characters such as her ex Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) as well as sons Ali Neeson (James Burrows) and Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) are also seen gathering at the church.

With a congregation gathered, could this be Michelle’s chance to expose her lover rat fiancé and leave him begging for mercy?

However, with Kym making her departure, could her character deal the final blow to her relationship with Robert by jilting him at the alter?

Having had a turbulent love life during her 13 years years on the cobbles, could this be the final straw for the final barmaid, giving her perceptive to leave her life in Weatherfield behind her?

She’ll be back!

Kym Marsh

The door is being left open for Michelle star Kym to return to the soap following her upcoming exit, so this could very well be the catalyst for the break to start.

After announcing her departure from the soap earlier this year, the actress told The Sun: “It’s been an incredibly difficult decision but it feels like the right time.

“When I was lucky enough to be offered four episodes I could never in my wildest dreams have thought I’d be here 13 years later.

“This isn’t the last you’ve heard of Michelle Connor, she’ll be back!” the soap star teased.

  • Coronation Street spoilers Tyrone devastated by Evelyn’s real identity

Robert actor Tristan, 52, will also be bowing out of his role as the love cheat in the coming weeks after playing the character for four years.

With a child on the way and his wife-to-be possibly leaving him to wallow in his mistakes, could the heartbreak be enough for him to desert his life with Vicky?

Throughout the storyline, the chef seems to have been more in love with Michelle then the mother of his child.

Therefore, could the expectant father leave Weatherfield, believing he’s not the right man to bring up his son or daughter?

Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7.30pm on ITV.

Narcos: Why did Pedro Pascal really leave Narcos?

Pedro Pascal is well known for playing Drug Enforcement Agent Javier Peña in the Netflix series Narcos. He starred in three seasons of the show as the agent tasked with bringing down both Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and the Cali Cartel. However, he left at the end of the third season as the show changed to Narcos: Mexico.

Why did Pedro Pascal leave Narcos?

Pedro Pascal played the one of the few lead characters to star in three seasons of Netflix drama Narcos.

He played real-life DEA agent Javier Peña in the Netflix show who is investigating Pablo Escobar and the Medellín Cartel.

However, when season three transported the focus to the Cali Cartel, his involvement became a fictionalised account.

The last viewers saw of the character was at the end of season three when he was on the banks of the Amazon with his father Chucho (Edward James Olmos).

READ MORE: Narcos Mexico season 2: When will the new series be set?

The pair discussed whether he might take up the offer to go and work for the DEA in Mexico.

However, he told his father: “I’ve done enough, I’m through.”

While it seemed like he would not be returning, the news was only confirmed in December 2017 by the showrunners.

This came after creator Eric Newman revealed all to The Hollywood Reporter as he cast two new members of the show – Michael Peña and Diego Luna.

Continuing as Narcos: Mexico, the series switched its focus to the rise of the Guadalajara cartel.

As a result, the series also went back in time a few years, setting the action in the late 1970s and early 1980s when the drug cartel was in action.

Newman told the publication that the plan to move on from Peña’s story was in motion for a number of years.

He said: “It was a part of the plan as early as season two.

“The design was always to finish out the Colombian story and the players that we’ve come to know there, and then start anew in Mexico.”

He added: “The continuing character on the show was always intended to be cocaine and the futile war against it.”

READ MORE: Narcos Mexico: ONE major historical inaccuracy from Netflix series

Actor Pascal was aware of the decision, according to the showrunner.

Newman added: “Although, he alternated between asking us to kill off his character at one point and then wondering, ‘Hey, maybe he can come back.’

“I’d like to think that he still hasn’t made up his mind about whether he wants to come back.

“It is after all an intersecting universe — the Mexicans did a lot of business with the Colombians.”

Some fans are hoping that this could mean the much-loved character may return once again in the series if the timelines match up.

However, fans can also catch Pascal as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones as well as playing the title character in the new Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

Viewers will also be pleased to know that season two of Narcos: Mexico has been commissioned.

The latest outing is set to pick up on the reveal that narrator Scoot McNairy is actually Walt Breslin.

Breslin is the DEA agent who will take over from the character of Kiki Camarena (Michael Peña) after his shocking death in season one.

Narcos is currently available to stream on Netflix.

Barbara Windsor’s emotional surprise at friend’s wedding revealed amid Alzheimer’s battle

Dame Barbara Windsor was unable to attend the wedding of celebrity makeup artist Gary Cockerill and TV presenter Phil Turner. However, the EastEnders legend, who has been battling Alzheimer’s disease for the past five years, did record a moving video for the couple. The 82-year-old made sure they knew she was there in spirit, which nearly reduced them to tears. The newlyweds have spoken out about what was said in her clip in a new interview with the latest issue of OK! Magazine.

It makes me want to cry. I’ve been working with Barbara Windsor for 25 years, and she’s such an amazing woman

Gary Cockerill

Speaking about Dame Barbara, who he referred to as his “surrogate mum”, Gary described it as his favourite part of the day.

“For her to do that was so special,” he commented. “She said: ‘Gary, Phil, I’ve just been told that you got married – that’s wonderful.

“‘Well congratulations to you both and I look forward to seeing you real soon.’”

The author continued: “It makes me want to cry. I’ve been working with her for 25 years, and she’s such an amazing woman.

“Barbara was basically like my surrogate mum when I first moved to London. She’s such a beautiful, brave and kind woman – she always has been, and she’s got an amazing husband in Scott.”

Phil, 50, who found fame on home improvement show House Invaders, also discussed how the actress is doing now.

He went on to tell the publication: “We visit her most weeks, some days are better than others for her.

“Gary still does her makeup if she’s heading out for dinner.”

Gary and Phil’s big day was held at London’s Cafe de Paris, and involved a look back at their romance.

According to OK!, this involved coming out to their loved ones and a “park bench wake-up” following Dame Barbara’s birthday bash 17 years ago.

Other famous faces to attend included Paul Hollywood’s ex Summer Monteys Fullam, Daisy Lowe, Vanessa Feltz and Michelle Heaton.

He has spoken publicly about how she is doing before and gave viewers the latest update.

The small screen favourite told the host he still sees her regularly and stated: “I saw her about two weeks ago.”

Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Rylan Clark-Neal teases winner shake-up ‘It’s anyone’s game’

Rylan, 30, is currently hosting Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show It Takes Two as he and BBC Radio presenter Zoe Ball, 4, share duties on the programme. With this year’s series in full swing, the former X Factor star has suggested the winner could come as a complete surprise to viewers and contestants alike.

Two celebrities are already out of the running as James Cracknell, 47, and Anneka Rice, 60, became the first stars of this year’s line-up to leave the show.

Therefore, last night’s live instalment of the hit dancing show saw 13 celebrities battle it out to secure their place in the competition.

This evening’s results show will see a third contestant eliminated, although it is getting tougher for the judges to make their decisions as the amateur dancers continue to improve just weeks into the competition.

Speaking on Sunday Brunch this morning, Rylan explained this could be the reason why the winner may be a complete surprise as he failed to pick one of this year’s bunch as the early frontrunner.

  • Strictly leaderboard: Who is top of the Strictly leaderboard?

Joining Strictly class member of 2017 Simon Rimmer, 56, and his co-host Tim Lovejoy, 51, the It Takes Two host revealed his thoughts.

Tim asked Rylan: “Who’s going to win? Are you allowed to say?”

In response, the former X Factor star said: “I really don’t know. Because every single week, people are changing how they’re dancing.”

Speaking directly to Simon, the Sunday Brunch guest remarked: “You know what it’s like because you can be great at one dance but not so great at another.”

It’s anyone’s game

Rylan Clark-Neal

Although the former contestant nodded along, he quipped in disagreement: “I never got to that bit, no.”

Having watched Simon perform in the studio, Rylan told the host: “I actually came to see you when I was there to support Ruth. That was the first time I saw you perform and I think you were great.

“But it’s anyone’s game. It really, really is anyone’s game,” the presenter concluded.

With the likes of David James, 49, going from the bottom of the leaderboard in the past few weeks to blowing the judges away last night, could viewers be in for a shock result in a couple of months time?

Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Kelvin Fletcher told off by Motsi Mabuse [VIDEO]
Strictly 2019: Catherine Tyldesley’s Charleston score outrages fans [VIDEO]

Rylan may not see a clear front-runner at the moment, but according to latest odds from bookmakers, there is one clear winner emerging.

Having arrived to the line-up as a late comer last month, former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, 35, and his professional dancing partner Oti Mabuse, 29, are storming ahead in fans eyes.

According to latest odds from Ladbrokes, the soap star is leading the way to victory.

The actor’s chances of taking the Glitterball Trophy from last year’s victor Stacey Dooley, 32, currently stand at evens.

  • Strictly 2019: Alex Scott and Neil’s ‘chemistry’ distracts viewers

Kelvin received the first tens of the series last weekend with his mind blowing Charleston routine and Saturday night’s live show saw him continuing to bring in the impressive scores.

Will this be enough to secure him the coveted title of Strictly champion and give Oti her first win?

On the other end of the spectrum, former footballer and sports pundit Alex Scott, 34, seems the favourite to be eliminated this evening.

The former front runner for victory failed to improve on her score from last week, leaving her chances of being sent home at Evens.

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 continues tonight at 7.15pm on BBC One.

Game of Thrones movie: Controversial ending to get epilogue like Breaking Bad’s El Camino?

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD FOR GAME OF THRONES AND EL CAMINO. Earlier this year the final season of Game of Thrones aired. But despite two years of anticipation, critics and some fans panned the ending. After all the fighting and deaths, the Iron Throne was destroyed by Daenerys’ dragon, Jon Snow (the rightful heir) went back into exile and those left elected Bran Stark king.

But is that really the end?

Could there be a Game of Thrones movie in a couple of years?

It’s certainly become the fashion to revive hit TV shows and just this year we’ve seen movies with original casts, set where their series left off, hit the big screen.

In just the last two months there’s been Downton Abbey the movie, arriving four years after the show of the same name ended, and now El Camino, landing six years after Breaking Bad finished.

Both were unnecessary, but that doesn’t mean us fans didn’t want or enjoy them thoroughly.

Of course, the difference with Game of Thrones is it ended controversially, but maybe a movie would be a way of tying things up a bit better.

And the best way to do a Game of Thrones movie would be like El Camino.

While Breaking Bad’s main focus was Walter White, El Camino gave secondary lead Jesse Pinkman a proper ending amid fan servicey flashbacks with favourite characters.

So a Game of Thrones movie could follow someone like Arya as she sets off on her voyage to explore what’s west of Westeros while revisiting key moments from the show in flashbacks.

But just how likely is a Game of Thrones movie?

Well, back in 2015, George RR Martin confirmed there would be one, although we’ve heard very little since apart from the prequel shows.

At the time Martin said: “There will be a movie but I will not be involved.”

And while a Game of Thrones movie probably isn’t a priority for the author right now, we’d imagine there will be talk of one in a few years just like Downton Abbey and El Camino.

Another big question is if they can get the cast all back together.

But one thing’s for sure, with the prequel series filming in Northern Ireland it’s not like they’d have to rebuild sets entirely from scratch.

And who knows, if not an epilogue to Game of Thrones, perhaps there will be a movie set in a different era of Westeros?
