In the latest episode of A Place in the Sun, Channel 4 presenter Jonnie Irwin tried to find Lisa and Rob their dream holiday home in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. The couple, who had a budget of £280,000 to spend, told Jonnie they wanted a three-bedroom holiday home, with plenty of outdoor space and a private swimming pool. They went on to add they would stretch their budget to £300,000 for the right property. However, things quickly took a turn during the property search when Jonnie issued a warning to his house hunters.
The first property Jonnie took the duo to was a three-bedroom and three-bathroom house.
The property seemed to impress Lisa before they even stepped foot inside as she simply commented: “Nice!”
However, after inspecting the villa further, Lisa decided the outside space wasn’t big enough for her.
The house hunter also wanted more privacy and a bigger swimming pool.
As they went to the second property, Jonnie explained the three-bedroom house had a bigger outside space.
Although, he went on to add the villa was priced slightly above the couple’s budget.
Rob and Lisa were blown away with the property, and Jonnie even left the duo taken aback by a “surprise” feature.
The couple were delighted the villa came with a huge games room which would be perfect for their two sons.
As the search came to an end, Rob and Lisa said the villa was a contender.
The third property also seemed to impress the house hunters, especially when Jonnie mentioned the price.
“That is a surprise,” Rob commented before they had stepped foot inside.
Lisa also left the property expert lost for words when she told him she loved the property.
“That’s the first time you’ve said that,” Jonnie exclaimed.
The couple admitted Jonnie had his work cut out if he was going to top the third holiday home.
“For the first time I can really imagine myself living here,” Rob admitted.
Jonnie replied: “This is a contender, so what does it do to the other property?”
“For me, that would be out,” Lisa explained as Jonnie asked: “Forget about it?”
He added: “I am pretty sure I have shown you the best property on the market in this part of Playa Blanca, so no point in showing you the second best, is there?
“Let’s go to another part. Let’s head further out.”
As they left the villa, Jonnie warned them: “You trust me now, don’t you? That is the first mistake.”
Jonnie continued to show Lisa and Rob the final two properties before they made a decision.
Lisa fell in love with property number five, while Rob still had his heart set on property number three.
However, in the end, the couple decided to put an offer in for the third property and it was accepted.
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4.
