The Marvel epic landed in cinemas in late April and now fans are eager to get their hands on their own home copy. But looking at sites like Amazon, no official release date has been announced yet. However, according to retail sources of a media analyst, the rumoured US release date of August 20, is going up to August 13. But Avengers Endgame isn’t the only MCU movie getting the 4K Ultra HD treatment in a combined set with Blu-Ray and digital download copies.
Bill Hunt tweeted: “Heads-up: Retail sources tell me the street date for #AvengersEndgame on #Bluray and #4K is moving up a week (from 8/20) to 8/13.
“The three #IronMan films will likely arrive on #UltraHD that day too.
“Adjust your plans accordingly. #MCU #Marvel #MarvelStudios @thedigitalbits.”
He added that it’s likely Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange will get the 4K Ultra HD treatment too come October.
While this rumoured date isn’t the same for the UK, an August release in Britain is also expected.
Meanwhile, Disney boss Bob Iger has confirmed that Disney+ will stream Avengers Endgame when it launches on December 11 in the US.
Bob Iger said in a press release: “We’re very pleased with our Q2 results and thrilled with the record-breaking success of Avengers: Endgame, which is now the second-highest grossing film of all time and will stream exclusively on Disney+ starting December 11.”
Meanwhile, Avengers Endgame is very close to breaking Avatar’s all-time box office record in cinemas.
Following this weekend’s box office takings, Avengers Endgame has now made $2,730,565,940 worldwide, compared to Avatar’s $2,787,965,087.
This means the Marvel epic is only $58 million away from topping James Cameron’s 3D extravaganza.
Of course, Avengers Endgame has already topped Titanic, but taking into account inflation, Cameron’s other biggest movie technically made a lot more money.
Avengers Endgame is in cinemas now.
