BBC Breakfasts Dan Walker feels inadequate after Strictly dance routine error

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker has opened up about the error he made in his dance routine on Strictly Come Dancing last weekend – admitting he feels 'inadequate'.

Dan was criticised by the Strictly judges on Saturday, with Anton Du Beke confessing he was "mortified" for the star, as Craig Revel Horwood sniped: "You really need to work on your arms, they're not working as they should."

The Sheffield-based morning presenter had messed up a few of the steps in his Prince Charming inspired routine, which saw him receive a rather low score – but thankfully remain in the competition as Judi Love and Katie McGlynn headed for the dance off.

Katie was eventually eliminated from the competition, one week after EastEnders star Nina Wadia.

On Tuesday's instalment of BBC Breakfast, Dan was sitting with co-host Sally Nugent and sports journalist Katherine Downes, discussing the cricket news.

Irish player Amy Hunter became the youngest player to hit an international century on her 16th birthday.

"She's 16, she's amazing!" Sally said of the cricket star.

But as the presenters discussed her victory, Dan couldn't help but say: "I feel thoroughly inadequate – again."

Dan had previously admitted he was "gutted" by his Strictly mistake – and it became clear he was referencing the dancing error once more on BBC Breakfast.

Kat interjected: "Oh, come on! Dan Walker!"

As Sally chipped in: "We need to build him up, don't make him feel inadequate! You've got it Dan!"

Dan quickly insisted: "I'm fine, don't worry. I've got it this week, I'm in the zone."
