Coronation Street spoilers: Ray Crosby’s ‘downfall begins’ as Faye ‘unveils’ dark secret

Corrie: Ray Crosby wonders who's been in The Bistro

Ray (played by Mark Frost) has made a number of enemies since it was revealed he wanted to destroy Coronation Street to redevelop the area for his own monetary desires. As his grip on Weatherfield became stronger, he began to use the power he thought he had over Faye (Ellie Leach) to make her have sex with him. During the ITV soap’s 60th anniversary episodes, it seemed the businessman was going to rape the teenager before her brother Gary Windass (Mikey North) put a stop to things. Although the latter was adamant she go to the police and report him, the youngster was reluctant to but could some support from Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) see her get rid of the villain once and for all?

The drama kicks off in upcoming scenes when the residents of Weatherfield gather at the Underworld Factory to watch the council planning meeting.

Ray’s associate Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) puts forward a strong case for the redevelopment plans whilst Roy Cropper (David Neilson) does everything in his power to stop the demolition.

However, the stalwart’s words are fruitless as the Chairperson for the council agrees to let the businessman have his way.

It’s not long before the villain and his business partner are celebrating their good news and they tell the Weatherfield locals they have two weeks to move out of their properties before the work begins.

Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) isn’t convinced by the council’s sudden decision and sets about to find out why the movement to destroy the cobbles was given the go ahead.

With the rest of the residents feeling flat over losing their fight with Ray, Abi steps in and tells them they all need to stay united.

This eventually leads to a protest by the locals as Ray tries to thank the Chairperson of the council for accepting his plans by buying her a drink.

Faye’s ex-boyfriend Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), who has no idea his former lover was sexually assaulted by the villain, is called to break up the commotion on the cobbles.

Things go from bad to worse for the Metcalfe family when they discover they can’t move to the Hale Barns development they were promised as the plans to build new homes on the land has been put on ice for the foreseeable future.

This still means Faye and her family have to up sticks within days as their house is one of the properties set to be flattened by the redevelopment.

Sally and the youngster’s father Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) are left fearing they will be left homeless but their friend Abi is sure there must be some ammunition to bring the businessman to his knees.

Listening in, the teenager sits quietly as she contemplates whether to tell her family what the villain did to her.

As the drama continues, it seems the residents of Weatherfield will begin to lose faith they will ever get rid of sleazy Ray.

Wonder when Ray will pay for his crimes?

Coronation Street viewer

Abi is one of the last people to continue the hate campaign against the villain, so could Faye confide in her about the sexual assault?

Knowing Ray has propositioned the likes of Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh), Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) and Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) in the past, the mother-of-three will be sure this information could send her former lover down for a very long time.

With the teenager scared to go to the police about being sexually assaulted, will her neighbour stand by her side as she confesses everything?

If so, it seems viewers of the weeknight serial drama could be saying goodbye to the ruthless businessman once and for all.

Taking to Twitter, fans want Ray gone as one wrote: “Wonder when Ray will pay for crimes against women? #Corrie.”

Another posted on the social media platform: “Can’t wait to see the end of Ray he needs locking up #Corrie.”

Whilst a third commented: “The #Ray and #Faye storyline is disgusting. The man is a creep,” a fourth added: “Ugh, Ray makes my skin crawl #corrie.”

“Ray hasn’t got a clue who the hell he’s messing with, God help him when Tim finds out about him and Faye because Tim will kick him into the middle of next week!! #Corrie #Corrie60 #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie,” a fifth remarked.

Coronation Street continues Monday at 7:30pm on ITV.
