Coronation Street actor James Burrows has welcomed his first child with his girlfriend Sophie Coates.
The 27-year-old star, who plays Ali Neeson in the ITV soap, coyly revealed that he had become a father to a daughter in his latest Instagram post.
‘Out with my beautiful girlfriend @sophie_coates baby free for a few hours while nana and grandad look after her #happyness,’ James wrote alongside a picture of himself indulging in a spot of dinner with Sophie.
A number of fans congratulated James in the comments, enthusing: ‘Pleased for you both mate and congrats on parenthood.’
James announced that he was expecting a baby back in October on social media alongside a picture of a scan, gushing: ‘Me and my beautiful girlfriend @sophie_coates are over the moon to announce that we’re having a baby. We can not contain our excitement we are so so happy x.’
‘We’d only recently said we’d properly start trying. And a month later we fell pregnant,’ Sophie told OK! at the time.
James added that Sophie rang him early in the morning while he was filming to reveal the joyous news, admitting that he told co-star Kym Marsh first.
James’ baby news comes just one day after co-star Julia Goulding confirmed she is expecting her first child.
The actress, best known for playing Shona Ramsey, confirmed her pregnancy with husband Ben Silver three months after tying the knot.
‘Ben and I are delighted to announce that we are expecting our first baby at the end of this year! We are absolutely overjoyed and can’t wait to meet our little one!’ Julia wrote on Instagram.
