Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd says he’s battling eating disorder as he slams trolls

Coronation Street favourite Jack P. Shepherd has revealed that he's batting an eating disorder.

The 33-year-old actor, who plays David Platt in the ITV soap, decided to open up after a group of evil trolls discussed his appearance on social media.

Some of the nasty comments included one that said that he "could do with a good feed".

Jack hit back on Twitter earlier this year with: "I have an eating disorder. Thank you for being nice" and did not go into further details.

The soap icon has been supported by fans since he posted about his eating disorder online. back on January 22.

One person penned: "Good on you for speaking out. I do too and you’ve inspired me to say it out loud.”

Another added: "Well done for speaking out, however you shouldn’t have to explain yourself."

A third social media user said: ""Good for you. Shame on them. You’re the funniest best character in Coronation St. Thought you should know that."

Jack has portrayed David on Coronation Street since 2000 and has previously spoke about problems in his life away from Weatherfield.

In September last year, he revealed that he had undergone a second hair transplant after his thinning locks put a strain on his mental health.

He underwent his first transplant in 2019, when he admitted that his hair loss had taken a toll on his health to the point that he almost quit the soap and "considered giving up acting".

Jack wrote at the time: "9 months it’s been since my hair transplant, I decided to get one as my hair was falling out and it was affecting my mental health to the point where I considered giving up acting and not being in the public eye. Thank you @drasimshahmalak @CrownClinicUK for everything."

The soap actor had previously stated he was convinced to have a transplant after his hair loss became more noticeable on-screen.

He said at the time: "I decided to have it done because my hair loss has really escalated in the last year, particularly at the front of my scalp.

"I remember seeing myself on screen and thinking: ''Oh my God, it is really falling out'."

"One of my mates had a transplant and he looked so much better afterwards that I didn't recognise him. I was blown away by the improvement and he told me he wished he had done it earlier.'
