Hannah Brown is looking for love on The Bachelorette. That tends to require figuring out who is there for love. Jed Wyatt has been a strong contender since the first episode.
On the first night, he made Brown swoon by playing guitar and singing a song for her. Things have changed since then and he admitted to getting on the show for the wrong reasons. How do fans feel about that? Here is everything you need to know.
Jed Wyatt admitted to Hannah Brown that he went on the show to promote his music
There is always a question of who goes on the show to gain fame and who is there to find love. Most men deny their intentions being the former but not the Nashville contestant.
In “Week 4” he had a solo date in Boston with Brown. There he revealed to her why he went on the show.
“Music is my passion. I want it more than anything in this world,” he said. The singer said that pursuing it is “hard and scary.” When he had the opportunity to go on the TV show he had another idea in mind.
“When I signed up for the show, I was skeptical… my first thought was, ‘This is a huge platform,’” he said. “I came in with that mindset.” The good news is that he said he has changed. “Now, more than anything, I want to be with you,” he said.
It looks like Brown believed him. “I value your honesty with me… it’s exactly what I’ve been asking for,” she said then gave him a rose.
Some fans are suspicious of his intentions
Fans seemed to be shocked by how the whole situation played out. Not only did a contestant admit to not being there for the right reasons, but it worked out for him.
Some of them thought it was weird that this worked for Wyatt in the same episode that Luke Stone was accused of being there to promote a liquor business that doesn’t exist yet by Luke Parker.
Another fan tweeted, ” Unpopular opinion: Jed actually seems a lot more calculated and manipulative than Luke P, but no one sees it yet #TheBachelorette.” However, there are still fans that are rooting for the guitar player to win Brown’s heart.
Many fans are still swooning for Wyatt
Other fans seem to be siding with Brown on the situation. Many are seeing it as the songwriter just being honest therefore he should stay. Some even thought the moment was something other men could learn from in the future.
It looks like the jury is still out on Wyatt. He has earned some people’s respect for his honesty. Others think his reveal was actually manipulative to get ahead of something. Either way, he’s going to be safe for now. Chances are fans will be keeping a close eye on him for any other signs after that big reveal.
