Keegan (played by Zack Morris) has been a character on EastEnders for over four years, with the troublesome youngster going on to become a savvy businessman. In recent scenes on the BBC soap, the estranged husband of Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) has been struggling to broker peace between him and his wife after he cheated on her with Dotty Cotton (Millie Zero). As Karen Taylor’s (Lorraine Stanley) plans to leave the Square in upcoming episodes, here is everything you need to know about whether he is going to be making a permanent exit.

Is Keegan Baker leaving EastEnders?

Since sleeping with Dotty, Keegan has been on a whirlwind journey with his estranged wife as immediately after it happened, they became sworn enemies.

As he felt he was getting nowhere with her, Keegan decided to freeze their joint account meaning his other half couldn’t withdraw any money from it.

Following his rash actions, the businessman found himself getting along with Tiffany and they agreed to be friends.

Unfortunately, his decision over the joint account came back to haunt him when his spouse told him she had received a letter from the bank.

This strained their relationship even further and with Liam Butcher (Alfie Deegan) back on the scene, Keegan hasn’t had a chance to fix things.

In Thursday night’s episode, he will tell his loved ones he has reached out to his older brother, Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).

The former heartthrob of the Square left last year and hasn’t been seen since but his family know where he has been living.

It seems he is set on leaving the Square but Bernadette gives him food for thought when she questions if it is right for him to depart if he is so worried about Tiffany.

There has been no statement released by the BBC confirming whether or not the character will be leaving the show.

Zack, the actor who plays Keegan, also hasn’t announced if he is quitting the soap so the businessman’s future is in doubt at the moment.

EastEnders is the biggest job I’ve had

However, according to the posts Zack has been making on his social media profiles in recent months, he is looking for a new job.

The actor took to Twitter and in view of his 34,100 followers, he explained he wanted to be in a blockbuster film.

Back in July, the soap star wrote: “Just listened to the @1Xtra interview with @Reece_Parkinson and @LewisHamilton.

“First of all, what an inspiration to our generation. Secondly, I heard mention of a Lewis Hamilton film. Shall I just drop my agent’s details down below?”

Whether he leaves or not, the actor who plays Keegan has spoken about his gratitude for getting the role.

“I’ve always wanted to be an actor. To get a job in EastEnders is great because I do get to call myself an actor now, and that’s a big thing for me. EastEnders is the biggest job I’ve had.”

Is Keegan Baker leaving EastEnders with Tiffany Butcher?

Earlier this year it was reported Maisie, the actress who plays Tiffany, was going to be leaving the soap in the autumn.

The character’s exit storyline has been kept under wraps and it is likely this will be the case until transmission.

However, if she does manage to patch things up with her estranged husband, there could be a chance Keegan and Tiffany will leave together.

It’s been reported Liam’s return is only for a short while so the couple could leave with him and move to Germany.

This way, there would be no chance of Dotty ruining their relationship again.

Discussing the reaction to Keegan and Tiffany’s marriage, soap star Zack said members of the public seem to like them.

“I haven’t heard anything negative, which is rare! I think it’s because their relationship is so genuine and pure, and there’s nothing bad you can really say about it.

“But, of course, it’s EastEnders, so there’s always going to be a bit of drama along the way to keep you all interested,” he told Inside Soap.

With so much love for the couple, bosses could be looking for a way to keep them together off-screen if they do make an exit.

EastEnders continues tonight at 7:35pm on BBC One.
