EastEnders star 'so happy' as nephew finishes chemotherapy

EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley has revealed her joy as 8-year-old nephew Alistair finishes chemotherapy.

The actress — who portrays Karen Taylor in the BBC One soap — confirmed the news on Twitter.

She told her followers: ‘I’m so happy right now! My beautiful 8 year old nephew Alistair has finished his chemotherapy & has rung the bell in time for his birthday and Xmas’

‘Thankyou to Portsmouth & @SotonChildHosp for taking care of him so well #thankyouNHS you’re amazing!!

‘Xxx #savetheNHS’

Karen was last seen on screens during Monday’s episode (December 7), as she looked after grandson Albie for Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).

Prior to appearing as the Taylor matriarch, Lorraine portrayed Thelma Bragg in 8 episodes of the serial drama in 2016 — Star’s (Amy-Leigh Hickman) mum, and a former rival of then Queen Vic landlady Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).

She also portrayed a young Mo Harris in 2004 spin-off film, Pat and Mo.
