GB News have been met with more than 50 complaints by the Government-approved regulatory board Ofcom.
People got in touch with the broadcasting watchdog to express their upset over comments about Dan Wootton on his show Tonight Live on December 19, 2022.
53 official claims were made to the regulatory board from viewers fuming about the broadcaster's coverage, including the alleged reporting of misinformation and harm on Coronavirus from Andrew Tate.
GB News published the video, “Online sensation Andrew Tate speaks to Dan Wootton on Harry and Meghan, Masculinity and Cancellation,” which caused quite a stir on social media.
Andrew appeared in the interview where he speaks on the “woke matrix that is the ruling lefty elite establishment" and is heard making several Covid-related claims that didn’t go down well with viewers.
He told Dan: “After the last three years of living through the imaginary pandemic and all the other garbage.
“I’m not saying covid doesn’t exist as a disease. Ii’m saying when you control the semantics and control the language then you get to control how people react.
"If you’re saying pandemic on repeat on the news then people start saying pandemic but as a whole, did you see a pandemic? Not if you see people in masks. but did you see in your own eyes a pandemic, did you see people collapsing in the street, hospitals overrun, ambulances running back and forth, no you did not, you did not see a pandemic."
Viewers took to social media following the segment's debut to share their response to the interview.
"GB News siding with Andrew Tate. I. Am. Shocked," said one viewer at the time, while another commented: "This interview should've been stopped."
Another added: "I can't believe what I'm hearing right now. GB News shoud've pulled the plug."
In the interview, Andrew also made claims about Meghan Markle and said she's just a "dislikable person".
He started by saying: ““The fact that racism is being used as a justification for the fact that she isn’t liked by the majority of people is a cop out. Its not the case."
"She does not garner any kind of racism in day-to-day life. She’s less dark skinned than me and I’ve certainly never suffered from any racism so I don’t think race has anything to do with it. I think she’s just a dislikable person and is trying to find another excuse for that.”
