Gogglebox: Malone family share adorable moment with baby
The Malone family are firm favourites on Gogglebox with Tom Malone Jr racking up an impressive amount of fans on Instagram due to his appearance on the Channel 4 series. Tom, who shot to fame from his entertaining appearances alongside his parents and dogs, has revealed those hoping to join the show are unable to audition and sign up.
When Gogglebox returns to screens, fans are always keen to find out how they too can sit back and watch the latest shows whilst having their reactions filmed.
However, getting onto the show is nowhere near as easy as some might think.
Tom has explained producers travel around the country looking for potential contributors as well as responding to tip offs about who could be entertaining enough to feature.
Tom detailed: “So you can’t actually sign up for Gogglebox, they have to find you so they have a whole team of people that go out looking for new cast members, like going in pubs and speaking to people, ringing up businesses and asking who’d be good for it so there’s no way to sign up.”

Creator Stephen Lambert confirmed Tom’s comments, telling Radio Times: “Everybody on Gogglebox has been found and persuaded to be on the show and I think that’s the key to why they are likeable and why the show works, because we get to know these people.
“We’ve never advertised for people on Gogglebox.”
One star who was initially reluctant to sign up to the show was Mary Killen, who had to be persuaded to take part by having a “taster” session.
Tania Alexander explained: “A friend of a friend recommended [them] and then I think I got [producer] Lucy Whelan to call to see if they were interested.

“Lucy came off the phone and said Giles is quite keen, Mary’s not a pushover – we’ve got a bit of a battle on our hands there.”
Both the Malone family, and Giles Wood and partner Mary are favourites with Gogglebox viewers and are expected to return in tonight’s show.
However, one family who will not be returning is the Tapper family who were reported to have “moved on” from the series.
Earlier this week, an insider told the Daily Star: “The Tapper family was part of Gogglebox for five years and they loved it.

“But they don’t have any plans to return. They have moved on.”
Now a spokesperson for the family have explained they would not rule out a return but simply couldn’t take part due to their schedules.
“The Tapper family are huge fans of the show and would never rule out completely returning,” the spokesperson explained.
“It’s just with their busy schedules and Amy’s upcoming projects it wouldn’t be possible right now.”
Amy has previously taken part in Celebs Go Dating and is expected to be taking on more TV projects in the future.
Meanwhile her brother Josh has pursued a career in politics, making a move away from the entertainment industry.
The current series of Gogglebox comes to an end this evening with the show expected to be back on screens later in February.
Gogglebox airs tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm.
