Great British Menu viewers slam BBC as contestant 'robbed' of win and sent home despite 'pulling a blinder' | The Sun

GREAT British Menu viewers bashed the BBC after a contestant didn't win and got sent him even though he "pulled a blinder".

The BBC Two show saw two female chefs compete this week, with the final two – Kerry and Gemma – cooking for the judges on the recent episode.

The two highest-scoring chefs from Northern Ireland went head-to-head and cooked their six-course menus again.

Both pulled out some standout dishes across the starter, fish, main and dessert courses.

The judges had no idea who had cooked what as they tasted each course, and scored them blind.

It was then left to host Andi Oliver to reveal who had scored the most points and gone through to the final.

The judge revealed that Gemma was the winner – and Kerry was sent home.

However viewers felt that Kerry was "robbed" of a win and deserved to go through.

Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts, one viewer wrote: "I think Kerry was a little robbed there – her improvement was enormous and she got the only 10s on judging day. I appreciate she’s less experienced, but."

Another added: "The wrong person went through tonight, with scores dramatically improving Kerry should have gone through."

A third penned: "I agree the improvement was one of the best I've ever seen and that dessert would have been spot on for the banquet."

A fourth wrote: "Overall Gemma scored higher over the week, but I had a soft spot for Kerry and I thought her dessert has huge potential. Oh well. None of Gemma’s dishes will go through, but that little crayon had a fair crack at it."

"Kerry pulled a blinder," another exclaimed.

Despite some viewers wanting Kerry to win, others were thrilled to see Gemma take the win.

One wrote: "Well deserved. Gemma was fantastic!"

A second added: "Well done Gemma she smashed."
