The Ariel depicter shares her appreciation for everyone who has worked with her in the movie, including Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy and Awkwafina.
AceShowbiz -It’s officially a wrap for “The Little Mermaid (2022)“. After working on the project for months, Halle Bailey took to social media to share her emotional tribute on the final day of filming the upcoming live-action movie of the Disney classic.
On Monday, July 12, the 21-year-old shared on Instagram a picture of herself sitting on the seashore with her feet dipped in the water against the sunset. She kicked off her lengthy post by stating, “And just like that..that’s a wrap. After auditioning for this film when i was 18 just about to turn 19 , to now finishing filming through a pandemic when i turned 21 ..we have finally made it.”
“I feel so grateful to have experienced this film in all of its glory,” the Ariel depicter added. “It has been the toughest experience being away from everything and everyone i’ve ever known, to feeling self doubt/ loneliness, but also feeling such freedom and perseverance as i’ve reached the end. this experience has made me so much stronger than i ever thought i could be.”
Halle went on to share her appreciation for her co-stars and crew. “I’m so grateful to have such lovely and talented people in the cast like [Jonah Hauer-King] that will be my friend for infinite lifetimes, [Jacob Tremblay] who i’m so proud of and legends like [Javier Bardem] [Melissa McCarthy, [Awkwafina], [Daveed Diggs] who are masters of their craft but are so welcoming and open to little old me.. as well as to the rest of the beautiful cast and crew,” she noted.
“I cannot wait for time to speed up so you all can watch this film because it was made with so much love (plus blood sweat and tears) lol,” the younger sister of Chloe Bailey concluded her message. “Thank you sardinia for a wonderful ending!!! xoxo.”
The movie’s director Rob Marshall announced in July 2019 that Halle’s casting came after an “extensive search” for the role of Ariel. Rob continued, “It was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance – plus a glorious singing voice – all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role.”
Walt Disney Pictures has yet to reveal a release date for “The Little Mermaid (2022)”.
