How Love Island winners spent the £50k from trainers to property to an X Box | The Sun

Ekin-Su Cülcüloglu and Davide Sanclimenti may have captured the hearts of Love Island viewers this year, but they've also bagged an impressive £50,000 in the process.

The lovebirds were crowned winners of the ITV2 reality series on Monday evening, and are now about to start their lives in the outside world.

But what do the pair have in store with their hefty prize fund?

Here, we take a look at all the show's previous winning couples, and find out how they spent their prize money.

Ekin-Su and Davide take note!

Millie Court and Liam Reardon – 2021

After being crowned winners of the reality series last year, Millie Court and Liam Reardon insisted on treating their beloved families.

At the time, Millie said: "I want to give back to them and do something for them."

While Liam declared he wanted to "look after" his loved ones back home in Wales and "spoil them as they’ve always done the best for me".

The pair, who have since split, also put a lump of money into a deposit for their luxury apartment in Essex.

Paige Turley and Finley Tapp – 2020

Paige Turley and Finley Tapp became the first winners of show's winter edition back in 2020.

The lovers, who are very much still together, decided to split the prize fund during the finale episode – meaning they walked home with £25,000 each.

However, Paige and Finn weren't given a chance to splash out on a huge shopping spree after being forced into lockdown.

Speaking to Metro, Finley said: "Well, we haven’t had the chance to really spend any it. Just cooking bits, food… That’s about it, really.

"We haven’t had a chance to do much with it. We’ve got an Xbox that’s keeping us entertained. A camera for some photos but that’s as exciting as it gets.

"I certainly do want to buy a few bits. That’s the thing, as well… You’re looking at some clothes online and you’re thinking, 'That looks really nice'. But you think, I can’t spend my money on that, where would I wear it? Just in the back garden?"

Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea – 2019

Despite joining the show in the final few weeks, Greg O'Shea managed tosail to victory alongside Amber Gill.

But while the pair didn't last on the outside, they still had £25,000 to keep them company.

Greg admitted to saving his money like a "boring old fart", adding: "I just saved it. I actually kept it in an English bank account and waited for the conversion rate to improve before bringing it across [to Ireland]."

Meanwhile, Amber chose to follow suit. Speaking to Closer, she said: "I'll probably treat myself a little bit, but I'm going to invest and be careful with it."

Following the show, the Geordie signed a seven-figure deal with clothing brand Misspap – making her the first Love Island millionaire.

Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham – 2018

Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham were firm favourites with Love Island viewers back in 2018.

Their romance blossomed over the course of the series, before eventually being crowned winners.

Shortly after departing the villa, Dani decided to save her winnings in the hopes of getting a house of her own.

"I put it into savings because I want to get a mortgage. This is what I did," she revealed.

However, Jack previously admitted his money ran out after work dried up following a string of bad headlines.

The former stationary salesman told MailOnline: "There was no structure. I had all this time and all this money on my hands. I wouldn't say I f***ed it but without that structure I fell to bits."

He also hit out at TV bosses saying: "I think there should be more guidance from them. They should say 'listen you are going to earn this amount of money – invest it, do something with it.'"

Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay – 2017

Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay decided to split the prize fund after being crowned winners during the 2017 final.

Unlike some former winners, Amber openly admitted to going on a massive shopping spree following her villa win.

"I bought myself a Chanel bag. I thought to myself, 'well I did win the show' so I treated myself to a celebratory Chanel bag," she shared.

"Just one handbag isn’t going to hurt is it? Kem has bought hundreds of trainers, trainers and trainers and trainers. I leave that to him.

"He has spoilt me rotten too though. I feel so lucky."

Since then, Kem – who split from girlfriend Amber just months after the show – has also opened his own restaurant in Essex.
