Love Island star Faye Winter left viewers cringing on Monday 16 August as she discussed voting with Millie Court and Liberty Poole.

Islanders were tasked with nominating two couples who they thought were the least compatible in the villa, with Millie, 24, and 21 year old Liberty both choosing Faye, 26, and Teddy Soares.

Shortly after the couples had made their choices over text messages, Faye discussed how she would never vote for her close friends in the villa.

Speaking by the fire pit, where Faye would later discover she and Teddy received three votes, she told the girls: "I'll be upset if we've got quite a few votes because no one has voiced anything to us. And it will come across to me quite two-faced.

"Like, us getting back together and everyone's cheering on the day beds, I'll be like: 'Why are you cheering for us if you actually don't think we're compatible?'

"And I wouldn't really want to be in a villa with people who haven't really voiced their concerns about my relationship with him to me."

Unbeknownst to Faye, the people she was confiding in were the very ones who had voted for her and Teddy as one of the least compatible pairings in the villa.

The awkward moment sparked a reaction from fans as one said: "Nothing but a tactical vote… but cringed when Millie was sitting next to Faye and Libby knowing she voted for the both of them acting like they’re besties the nerve".

Another added: "Millie knew that Faye was deflecting/self sabotaging by saying those things & then reassured her that they’re good together, celebrated them back together only to later use that against to vote out, seems very disingenuous on Millie’s end, doesn’t sit right with me".

While a third questioned: "Why is Faye going around interrogating everyone it’s never gonna that deep everyone was put in an awkward situation and had to vote it’s never that serious".

Later in the show, after it was revealed the couple who would be leaving the villa was Priya Gopaldas and Brett Staniland, Priya dropped a bombshell to Faye.

As she was packing her stuff to leave the villa, medical student Priya, 23, pulled the estate agent for a chat.

Priya then revealed that she and Brett, 27, did not vote for Faye and Teddy as she thinks the pair are the most compatible in the villa.

Fans soon reacted to Priya's revelation on Twitter, with many being convinced she was advised by producers to tell Faye who she had voted for.

One said: "The producers must have told Priya to tell Faye that she didn't vote for her to cause drama. #loveisland".

While a second said: "All I know about #LoveIsland is Priya wanted to cause a storm before leaving by telling Faye they didn’t vote for them".

And a third asked: "why did priya tell faye she didn't vote for them??? what was the agenda there?? did a producer tell her to do that so faye would just calculate who may have? #LoveIsland".
