Lorraine Kelly says she is concerned Meghan Markle could decide to turn her diary into a Netflix special if her relationship with the British royals disintegrates further.

The ITV regular admitted she has been left baffled by Prince Harry and Meghan's decision to leak details of a private call with Prince William and Prince Charles to US media.

Meghan's close friend Gayle King was on her CBS mornging show when she revealed she had spoken to the couple about the call which did little to build bridges.

Lorraine said: "The Queen wanted all of this private. I am baffled why they would be doing that."

Another story was that Charles wasn't taking Harry's calls… well maybe he is now thinking he shouldn't have taken that call. I don't know."

She added: "That diary is going to be a book isn't it or a TV special or a Netflix series.

"To be fair one of the thing I think is that it's so sad.

"All of the good they have done and could have done… they are still very committed to work for charity and causes close to their hearts.

"The will continue with Invictus Games but it won't be under the royal umbrella."

In a final warning shot, Lorraine said: "They have to aye keep it under wraps and do all that privately and quietly."

Meanwhile, Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh also hit out at the decision.

Speaking her mind, Ravir said: "What is to be gained? What I the game plan. What is the game for telling a very prominent TV person.

"What is the game plan for Harry and Meghan? It seems a little mean spirited of Harry and Meghan.

"You had your two hours and all the rest on the cutting room floor."

The former Strictly Come Dancing star added: "You get the feeling they thought they were gong to get this outpouring of an apology.

"It is almost like they didn't get what they wanted. Like an outpouring of atonement."

Adding to the backlash former GMB host Piers Morgan also let rip – turning to social media to accuse Meghan and Harry of a smear campaign against the queen.

Piers tweeted: "There's a very deliberate and malicious campaign being perpetrated by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to smear, defame and trash Britain, our Monarchy and the Royal Family as a bunch of heartless racists.

"It's disgusting. Time to stand up for our Queen."
