It’s been over a year since viewers watched in horror at the criminal dealings of the Byrde family. With shocking cliffhangers begging to be resolved and new cast members joining the final season of Ozark, the Netflix hit could be returning sooner than audiences thought as filming has almost wrapped.

Netflix’s hit crime drama series aired an increasingly shocking third season, which saw the Byrde family in more peril than ever before.

Petty criminal Ruth Langmore (played by Julia Garner) suffered a devastating loss at the end of season three as well.

As the series draws to a close, there are still various storylines that need to be wrapped up.

As viewers patiently wait for a release date announcement, a filming update will surely provide fans with plenty of excitement.

Director Amanda Marsalis posted a photo of herself on-set as filing began to wrap up for season four.

She captioned it: “I’ve been here since the beginning of May… So close to the end!

“Will miss Ozark cast and crew so so much,” she continued in her stories.

Posted alongside a photo of a dog on-set, Amanda joked: “We have the best crew @Ozark!”

With cliffhangers waiting to be wrapped up, there is so much for fans to look forward to in season four as there are a host of new cast members joining the series.

Guest stars Felix Solis and Damian Young have confirmed they are reprising their roles.

New actors joining Ozark include Adam Rothenberg, Alfonso Herrera, Bruno Bichir, Katrina Lenk, CC Castillo, Eric Ladin, Bruce Davison, Veronica Falcón, and Ali Stroker.

Viewers were also surprised to learn rapper Killer Mike will also be appearing in a cameo role.

Alongside a photo of Killer Mike on Ozark’s Instagram page, the announcement read: “The rapper’s character will run into Ruth at her lowest point.”

Later confirming: “Season four will be the show’s final season.”

Discussing the final season, actors Jessica Frances Dukes, Felix Solis, Skylar Gaertner, and Madison Thompson spoke at the SAG Awards panel about what viewers can expect.

“All good things must come to an end,” Solis remarked.

“This was a good job that must come to an end. We don’t want to wait until it’s not good for it end,” he added.

Thompson feels ending the show is the “best of both worlds” as the series won’t be dragged on longer than it should.

The actors promised storylines would continue to grow despite the ending next season.

Deadline reported Gaertner’s Jonah Byrde will be further explored as well.

“[The team] pull out all the stops with the finale,” the young actor revealed.

Ozark seasons 1-3 are on Netflix now. A release date for season 4 has yet to be announced.
