Shane Richie's wife Christie fights back tears as she thanks viewers for keeping him in I'm A Celebrity

SHANE Richie's wife Christie Goddard held back tears as she thanked fans for voting for her husband on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

The 56-year-old former EastEnders star, who shares three children with wife Christie, was saved by the public last night.

Shane will compete in tonight's semi-final alongside campmates Giovanna Fletcher, Vernon Kay and Jordan North.

Following yesterday's show, Christie was overcome with emotion as Ant and Dec revealed her husband had been saved.

On Instagram, an emotional Christie said: "Thank you so much to everyone who voted for him. Thank you, it means the most to us.

"Can you imagine how amazing he's going to look in his spandex. Thank you so much!"

Christie was also joined by two of the couple's children.

The pair, who tied the knot in 2007, have three children together – Mackenzie Blue, Lolita Bell and Romani-Skye Angel Shelley.

Shane also has two sons from his previous marriage to Coleen Nolan – Shane Roche Jr and Jake Roche.

Christie later took to Twitter and thanked fans once more.

She tweeted: "Honestly, thank you SO much to every single one of you who has voted to keep Shane in the #ImACeleb Castle.

"You have, albeit, unleashed the image of Shane Richie in Speedos, all soaking wet, getting balls flung at him, upon the world, though."

During last night's show, hosts Ant and Dec revealed that former Strictly star AJ Pritchard, 26, placed sixth and Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah, 37, placed fifth.

Speaking in his final interview before being released from the castle, the dancer didn't miss a chance to take aim at his camp rival Shane.

When asked about their washing-up feud, AJ insisted defiantly that the Alfie Moon star hadn't been putting in the work.

He told Ant and Dec: "I'm not going to lie. I think if you're going to do your job do it properly it's much better between everyone else."
