EastEnders fans have been fearing for the fate of Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) after Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) derailed her hearing, before having to be escorted out of the courtroom.
Whitney was nervous for attending alone but Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) accompanied her, with Whitney advising Gray to attend the funeral of his late wife Chantelle.
But as the hearse pulled up with Chantelle’s coffin, Gray couldn’t face his guilt over the murder of his wife and he headed instead to court to oversee proceedings.
However, as the prosecution spoke against Whitney and mentioned Leo lying dead on the kitchen floor as the result of murder, Gray had flashbacks to Chantelle and erupted that that wasn’t how it was.
Seeing a lot of himself in Leo, Gray then became frustrated and, in a twisted way of trying to redeem himself, he ranted how Leo was a monster and din’t deserve to live.
Despite the judge’s repeated attempts to silence him, Gray lost it and urged Whitney to tell the court that she would kill Leo again given the chance.
As everyone looked on in horror, Whitney was left feeling hollow and wondering what the jury will make of what happened.
Could she be sent down due to Gray’s actions?
