Strictly fans send love to Jesy Nelson as Little Mix perform as a trio while star takes extended time off

HEARTBROKEN Strictly Come Dancing fans sent their love to Jesy Nelson as Little Mix performed as a trio on the BBC One dance show this evening.

Last month, it was confirmed that 29-year-old Jesy was taking "extended time off" from the girl group for "personal medical reasons".

Her bandmates – Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall – took to the ballroom this evening for a rousing performance of their hit single Break Up Song.

The girls looked incredible, with Leigh-Anne stunning in a silk emerald green jumpsuit, Jade wowing in a feather-trimmed get-up, and Perrie glamming it up with a sequin mini dress complete with pink statement frill.

While fans at home were blown away by the sensational performance, they couldn't help but spare a thought for Jesy.

Taking to Twitter, one concerned viewer wrote: "I miss Jesy so much" alongside a crying emoji.

Another added: "It’s so sad watching Little Mix & Jesy not being there"

A third agreed: "Sending well wishes to Jesy", while a fourth wrote: "I love @LittleMix but it's not the same without Jesy there too.

A Little Mix rep previously said in a statement: "Jesy is having extended time off from Little Mix for private medical reasons.

"We will not be issuing any further comment currently and ask media to please respect her privacy at this time."

It came two weeks after she missed the grand finale of the band's TV talent show The Search, as well as their high-profile stint hosting the MTV EMAs.

The Sun then revealed that Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne are going solo – with each involved in secret plans to launch individual careers next year at the end of their existing deal.

However, Jade has insisted the group "will never die" even if the girls do end up branching out.

Little Mix formed on The X Factor in 2011, becoming the first band to win the show.

Together they have sold more than 50million records, landing two Brit Awards, four number one singles and releasing six albums along the way.

They are also scheduled to hit the road on tour again in April next year, though it’s thought the dates may be delayed if necessary as a result of ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.
