Strictlys John Whaite jokes he is shaken after eating London fish and chips: I wont go to sleep tonight!

Strictly Come Dancing star John Whaite joked that he has been left "shaken" after eating fish and chips in London.

Taking to Instagram, The Great British Bake Off winner, 32, posted a picture of his food, writing: "Fish and chips in London.

"Why do so many chippies leave the skin on fish? Riddle me this. I don’t like it Cathy."

John also joked that he was having to have a "chocolate covered marzipan" and "mince pie" to "calm his nerves" as he was "shaken" over the discovery.

He quipped: "Not being funny guys, but that skin on deep fried fish has shaken me so much… I'm having to have a chocolate covered marzipan to calm my nerves. I won't go to sleep tonight. What was all that about?"

John is currently part of Strictly's first ever all-male same sex couple with professional dancer Johannes Radebe where they have been praised by fans and the show's judges.

Following their first live show, head judge Shirley Ballas labelled it a "testimony to the same sex couple".

"Well I feel that this is a testimony to the same sex couple," she began. "It’s absolutely exquisite.

"And to go from being a leader to being led, is unbelievably difficult and you executed just phenomenally well.

"Beautiful choreography Johannes it’s absolutely stunning. Well done," the judge added.

Anton Du Beke echoed the praise as he continued: "It was really strong, all the things I like.

"It was strong, it was clean, it was powerful. Wonderful timing at the top, listen just carry on like that please and I’ll be delighted."

Craig Revel Horwood was cheeky as ever however, giving some criticism about Great British Bake Off star John leaving his "thumb" stuck up throughout the dance.

Laughing, Tess Daly asked the judge if he had anything else to say.
