The Chase viewers were left floored on Tuesday night when they spotted a fascinating 'connection' with the royal family on the panel.

Tuesday's episode saw players Archie, George, Louis and Charlotte walk into the studio to try and outrun the notorious Chasers in a bid to win a big cash prize to take home.

The contestants were greeted by presenter Bradley Walsh and were tasked with facing famous Chaser Anne "The Governess" Hegerty in a battle of quiz knowledge.

However, eagle-eyed viewers at home quickly discovered that this particular panel of contestants was quite different from any other panel on the show.

That's because the contestants all shared the same names as the Queen's grandchildren and great-grandchildren – making them a royal-family-themed panel.

The boys on the panel, retired engraver Archie, scaffolder George and football coach Louis, shared the same names as the Queen's grandsons.

These include Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's two-year-old son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Prince William and Kate's sons Prince George, 8.

Prince Louis of Cambridge is the second son, and third child, of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate.

The remaining panel member was Paralegal from Exeter, Charlotte, who 'took after' Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, the only daughter of William and Kate.

Many fans were left distracted as soon as the show began, with many rushing to Twitter to point out the royal theme on the episode.

One excited viewer wrote: "Well done The Chase for the contestants' names today. George, Charlotte, Louis and Archie. Take it it’s the royal grandchildren episode."

A second commented: "nice to see The Queens great grandchildren on the show tonight."

A third said: "All the Royal grandkids!"

A fourth was in hysterics as they penned: "Today’s contestants: George, Charlotte, Louis and Archie…are you kidding me," whilst adding a laughing-face emoji.

A fifth added: "Blimey, the children of the Royal Family have all grown up already."

Host Bradley, on the other hand, failed to spot the Royal theme and it was left up to The Governess to break the news to him.

Anne told him: "You haven't worked out what all these people have in common, have you?"

Bradley was stumped as they said: "Oh, have I done it again?" before eventually working it out.
