Multi-billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch is getting divorced – after just six years.

Murdoch, who owns The Sun and The Times newspapers and Talk TV in the UK, wed former supermodel partner Jerry Hall in 2016.

It is the 91-year-old's fourth failed marriage.

According to The Mirror, Bryce Tom, a spokesman for Murdoch, declined to comment on the reports while Ms Hall’s agent failed to respond to enquiries.

The owner of American outlets Fox News and the Wall Street Journal is valued at around £14.5 billion, has six children, including daughter Prudence MacLeod – who he had with first wife Patricia Booker – and daughter Elisabeth and sons Lachlan and James with his second wife Anna Mann.

He has two other daughters from third wife Wendi Deng called Chloe and Grace.

Details of Murdoch and Hall's divorce are not yet known, however, the couple does not share any children together, and it is also unknown if there was an prenuptial agreement made before they wed.

To celebrate their central London wedding, Murdoch tweeted: “I am the luckiest and happiest man in the world.”

It was the same year that Murdoch put in an £11.7 billion bid to by TV company Sky.

Murdoch's latest UK media venture was to launch TalkTV earlier this year.

He brought in Piers Morgan as the big-name draw, but things haven't quite gone to plan as Stanley Johnson walked off the set of his show during a row about Stanley's Prime Minister son, Boris Johnson.

The PM's father appeared on Piers Morgan's Uncensored TalkTV show on Tuesday night (June 14), but the interview took a turn for the worse.

The former Good Morning Britain host spoke to Stanley about his PM son Boris, but Stanley ended up branding Piers a "cheater" and claiming the broadcaster had “lured him in”.

Stanley defended his son's actions during the Partygate scandal and told Piers he was confident Boris would still be Prime Minister in two years' time.
