Mum from hell tried to frame cleaner neighbour for machete attack after she 'refused to clean her flat for her'

A MUM from hell tried framing her cleaner neighbour for a bogus machete attack after she refused to tidy her flat for her.

Emma Ravenscroft claimed Daniel Hall held a blade to her throat during a furious row in the street after someone daubed 'slag' on her car in bleach.

But the hapless 26-year-old forgot to hang up the phone after a frantic call to cops – and was heard telling her boyfriend: "I’ve said Dan came out with a machete but I’m blagging it.

"He’s getting locked up tonight. This will get him nicked now.''

Daniel's partner Kim Doughty, 35, has now opened up about their nightmare ordeal after Ravenscroft was spared jail for wasting police time and criminal damage last week.

She said: "Emma moved in about three years ago and at first we were friendly. She seemed nice and she borrowed stuff and stopped for a chat, as neighbours do.

“But then, she offered me money to clean her flat and I refused. I have worked as a cleaner in the past. After that, she got the hump with me and she was very off-hand.

“She was quite abusive in the street and I tried to avoid her. I started staying over at Dan’s house because he lived further up the street.”

On December 29, armed cops were scrambled to their street in Handforth, near Wilmslow, Cheshire, after she called 999 claiming she had been threatened.

During the hoax call, Ravenscroft told a call handler: ''He's running around with a machete and I’m now hiding in the car with my boyfriend.

''He’s got a big machete in his hand and he just tried to get me with it – he held it against my throat.''

Daniel was arrested but Ravenscroft's web of lies unravelled when she forgot to hang up after the bogus call.

Describing the horror, mum-of-one Kim said: "Dan and I had just watched a Christmas film and we were turning the lights off, ready for bed around 11pm, when there was a loud smash and glass flying everywhere.

"Dan was shouting that someone had smashed the living room window and then we heard banging and screaming at the front door.

“Emma launched herself at us, going first for me and then Dan. Dan rang 999. I was really scared. When the police sirens sounded, I was really relieved – I thought they were coming to help us.”

When they opened the door, armed cops yelled "put your hands up" at terrified Daniel as they pointed their guns at him.

Ravenscroft repeatedly denied lying about the drama – even claiming cops should have been looking for a fishing knife, not a machete.

She also insisted her car had been vandalised on several occasions and told the court she was "scared for my life" when she made the call to police.

But after being led on the "wild goose chase", police cleared Daniel of any wrongdoing and Ravenscroft was hauled before JPs at Stockport.

She was slapped with a restraining order and £50 fine also ordered to pay £185 costs and given a 12 month community order.

Ravenscroft, who was cleared of assaulting the couple, now lives back on the street but Kim says she "tries to avoid her".

The mum added: "It’s been an absolute nightmare.

“It all happened the week after Christmas but the goodwill was sadly in short supply in our street.

“She has caused us endless stress with her lies, for no reason at all.”
