Police sergeant charged with rape and sexual assault to appear in court

A police sergeant has been charged with rape and sexual assault.

West Yorkshire police sergeant Ben Lister is due to appear in Bradford Magistrates Court later this month after being charged with rape and sexual assault, a force spokesman has said.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "A West Yorkshire police officer has been charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault.

"Police Sergeant Ben Lister, based at Bradford District, is due in court at Bradford Magistrates' on 24 March 2021.

"He is currently suspended from the force."
