Poundland worker karate kicks ‘shoplifter’ out of store before body-slamming him

An alleged shoplifter has been filmed getting karate-kicked out of a Poundland store with his trousers down by his legs by an employee.

The scuffle kicked off at the bargain store in Castle Square, Sheffield, South Yorkshire on Wednesday (August 25).

The clip begins with a man in a grey jack suit wrestling with an employee of the store.

During the scrap, the alleged shoplifter's trousers drop below his bum as Jaffa Cake packets drop tot he floor.

“It’s kicking off,” the man behind the camera says as the scrap unfolds in front of him.

Another Poundland worker, who appears to have only one arm, then arrives and grabs the alleged shoplifter by the the neck.

He drags him out of the shop before the pair exchange words outside.

The worker then karate kicks the man across the pavement and follows up by body-slamming him to the ground.

The clip has gone viral after being shared on Twitter by @ImJustSheff.

It has since been shared far and wide, receiving hundreds of comments in the process.

“Those staff must be at the end of their tether, have to deal with the likes of him day in day out,” one wrote.

Another commented: “Hope they don't sack the guy. This was satisfying to watch tbh, when I worked in retail we had people like that and I really wanted to go off like this Poundland guy did.”

A Poundland spokesperson said: "Our colleagues face difficulties every day in dealing with shoplifters.

"We're pleased that this incident is now in the hands of the police."
