Princess Eugenie’s husband let slip one of the royal household’s best kept secrets as he claims there are tunnels beneath London.
The tequila salesman, Jack Brooksbank, allegedly said that beneath the streets of London the royals can discreetly slip to a cocktail bar from a palace via a tunnel.
He reportedly made the claim to to Mail Online royal editor, Richard Eden at a party in Kensington which was sponsored by his tequila brand, Casamigos.
The editor claims he said: "There is one to Dukes Bar from St James’s Palace. I haven’t used it yet, but I’d love to check it out."
Rumours of tunnels linking Buckingham Palace to various other parts of London have circulated for a number of years.
According to the Londonist, an underground link-up with Whitehall and the Houses of Parliament is plausible, given the warren of Whitehall tunnels that is known to exist, but unproven.
Other unproven rumours include a tunnel between the Palace and Clarence House, and a branch of the Post Office Railway running right under the Palace.
The news comes after Princess Beatrice was hailed as 'more respectful' than Meghan Markle over the announcement of her baby's name.
It was revealed yesterday that Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have named their new baby girl Sienna Elizabeth, a cute nod to the child's great-grandmother the Queen.
Fans had been eagerly awaiting the announcement since the princess gave birth at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London on September 18.
Meghan and Prince Harry honoured the Queen in a similar way after the birth of their baby girl on June 4 this year, using Her Majesty's pet name as they named their daughter 'Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor.'
