Ukrainian schoolgirl, 14, dead after found with ‘multiple injuries’ on UK beach
A schoolgirl from Ukraine was found with “multiple injuries” on a Devonshire beach before later dying in hospital.
Just 14 years old, Albina Yevko’s body was found at Dawlish bay on Saturday, March 4 when she was rushed to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
Yesterday (Wednesday, March 15), an inquest was opened into the death of the “kind and caring” girl.

Albina had been attending Dawlish College after she left her native Ukraine last year following the invasion by Vladimir Putin’s Russia.
She had been living with her mother Inna in Dawlish, coroner Alison Longhorn said.
She was reported missing on March 3, the day before she died, with a search having been launched in a desperate bid to find her.
But despite best efforts from rescuers and medics alike, she passed away two days later after being taken to hospital.
Ms Longhorn said she had suffered “multiple injuries” which were ultimately the cause of her death.
She said that the death was not suspicious despite a full report not yet having been released.

Investigations by officers via CCTV footage and data on her phone have apparently indicated that no one else was involved in the moments leading up to her death.
The tragedy has left her friends and loved ones desperate for answers with her mother expressing her heartbreak at the loss of her “beautiful” daughter.
She said: "Myself and my family are devastated to have lost our beautiful Albina. Nothing can ever replace her in our hearts."
Detective Inspector Becky Davies said at the hearing: "Our investigation shows that Albina had settled very well in the UK since moving from Ukraine and enjoyed living by the sea and being part of a new family.
"She had made good friends, both Ukrainian and English in the UK, enjoyed school and was very much welcomed by the local community."
