Wetherspoon has announced it is bringing back its iconic curry and steak clubs amid a shake up of its menu.

The extremely popular events, which contain special offers on the pub chain’s curries and steaks, have been absent for the last six months after it decided to offer them throughout the week.

The firm has now decided to bring them back as part of a new-look menu that will bring a range of new meals to its pubs from Wednesday, March 30.

As a result, Curry Club will return to Thursday nights, while Steak Club will revert to Tuesday nights.

However, they won’t be exactly the same, as the chain is increasing the range of curries customers can choose from.

It will now off Chicken korma, sweet potato curry and Chicken vindaloo.

The Wetherspoon Curry Club, which contains the Chicken tikka masala (pictured), is returning to Thursday nights

This is in addition to the usual Chicken jalfrezi, Beef Madras, Chicken tikka masala and Mangalorean roasted cauliflower & spinach curry.

Every curry is served with basmati pilau rice, plain naan bread and poppadums.

There will also be two new side dishes in the form of an onion bhaji and a vegetable samosa.

The chain is also bringing its Steak Club, which includes the sirloin steak (pictured), back to Tuesday nights

There will also be two new meals being added to the Steak Club – gammon (5oz and 10oz options), with eggs, served with peas and mushroom, half a tomato with a choice of chips or jacket potato.

Away from its club nights, pubs in England, Scotland and Wales will also see new four new boneless chicken dishes, each served in a basket.

These boneless baskets will comprise of either three Southern-fried chicken strips and five chicken breast bites, Southern-fried chicken strips basket (five strips), Chicken breast bites basket (ten pieces) and Quorn ‘no chicken’ nuggets basket (eight pieces).

These will all be served with a sauce of your choice – options include BBQ, sweet chilli, JD Honey glaze and sticky soy – as well as coleslaw, and rice or chips.

There will also be a new char-grilled chicken dish, with chicken gravy and the option of mashed potato, chips or jacket potato.

For those looking for something a bit healthier there will be fruit salad available for breakfast or dessert – when it will be served with ice cream – and fruit options added to the porridge.

Wetherspoon says the changes will come into effect from Wednesday, March 30

The chain is also adding a small pancake dish, also available for breakfast or dessert, as well as smashed avocado muffin, and chicken and maple-cured bacon salad.

The children’s menu will also be updated to include strawberries and blueberries as a healthier dessert option, while an apple bag will be added to the free fruit options for all children’s meals.

Wetherspoon’s senior food development manager, Matt Elsdon, said: ‘We are always looking to offer our customers the best possible choice of meals.

‘We believe our customers will welcome the new meals and will also be pleased at the return of the Steak Club and Curry Club to Tuesday and Thursday nights.
